duckhuntgangsta - Please explain to me how to finish a Kimora when in someone's half guard. Phone Post 3.0
It's easy, but you have to abandon half guard. It's just like Mir vs noguiera. Phone Post

Wasn't he using the kimura to attempt a sweep or replace guard, which he did? Where di he fail? he tied up one arm and nutruelized hi attack

The Kimura is a FINISHING hold. He did not use it to replace guard or sweep. He tried to finish but did not know how. Then he abandoned it and recovered from there.

GregBell  - Not on yet but thinking about it ...he has the tools ground game looks shaky at best so I think favorable matchmaking will need to be in order for at least his first 3-4 fights. His last fight before his "Test" should be somebody like sakara. I'd keep uriah away from a guy like court mcgee for a while who can they feed him??

Agreed 100 percent. If UFC handles this well, they can take the time to groom him and have a star. If they put him against a Judoka, good wrestler or someone like Mia, he is TOAST.

If I were Dana, I pace him.

He could end up like a Bones Jones and just keep on dismantling everyone too.

Condit's Face Broke My Hand -  I think he's very good and will be top 10, but based on what on what I've seen there's no way he beats guys like Okami, Weidman, Munoz etc. Guys that will take him down and keep him there and can avoid submissions and advance position. Phone Post

Here is the thing.. I don't care if he is the next world champ or not. He is a very exciting fighter. If he never makes it to the title at least we have a very exciting guy coming to the UFC.

It is obvious he has some work to do as anyone does. However, he is probably the most devistating guy to come out of TUF. Only time will tell how far he goes. Sounds like the only thing that will ever hold him back is himself. The more confidence he gains, the more dangerous he is going to be.

I just thought he was really winy and cried over EVERYTHING. He was maybe the most sensitive one on the show and would talk shit about people who did NOTHING to him. Seriously this guy needs to see a shrink or go on a vision quest, whatever he has to do in order to get over his bullying. But with that said I also have to say "respect" in his abilities, can't argue he is on the quick path to becoming a true beast.

That is a very good point. He is exciting.

Donoghue88 - What else could he have done?
Been involved in wars, involving him showing heart, a chin, awesome grappling, cardio, or at least some incredible takedown defense.
Don't get me wrong, I'm NOT saying that hell never be champ, an awesome fighter, yada yada. Just that he is overhyped judging from what we saw on TUF. Phone Post
So he should have intentionally made his fights more difficult on just to prove how well rounded he is? Phone Post 3.0
Not at all. His fights were perfect. I misunderstood. I was saying what else could have happened Phone Post

Potentially lack of grappling could hold him back, but you're 100% right about the excitement factor. Phone Post

No one wants to be in a striking battle with him. He only needs to land one shot and it's lights out. Every time he threw a kick in that last fight I cringed and thought of Cella and McDaniels laying completely knocked out on the ground.

I'm going with Kelvin though in the finals. Nothing he does is pretty at all, but if he survives standing with Uriah and can close the distance and get a takedown I think he can control Uriah on the ground. Hall beat the living hell out of that dude from bottom but the guy was also already badly beaten up and not really pressuring him or correctly controlling a position.

I honestly think Kelvin can break Uriah. Grind him out on the ground or the cage and sub/TKO on the ground.

But I don't know, I cheered both guys all season because Uriah scared me and Kelvin kept pulling upsets when everyone thought he was a squash match.

Either way I'm happy with 2 team Sonnen finalists. I hope to see Kelvin drop a weight class though in the future. Phone Post 3.0

the train is more a Llyod Irvine thing however I feel this Uriah kid has potential as a mMa fighter that is, not as passenger on Llyod Irvine train, Uriah seems to have good morals.

What's this post about?

Is Hall a Lloyd Irvine guy?

I wasn't aware that he was

Watch the Weidman fight.. He breaks Hall mentally. I don't think Hall deals well with adversity. GIven his track record, if someone puts him in trouble he will fold. We'll see soon enough.

No hes not, lloyd irvine likes to be part of trains, uriah dont do that kind of train. Phone Post

Ahhh.....gotcha. That one went over my head buddy, cool.

In terms of Hall, don't y'all think a sizeable component of his last two fights on TUF was the aura/vibe the other dudes in the house were experiencing? Much like the way a portion of Andersons opponents are beaten before they even step into the cage. (Okami is a prime example). I feel that Bubba and Dylan both fought like they were afraid of the guy, overly stand offish and not in their usual styles. The way Dana and Chael had been talking about Uriah and hyping the bejesus out of him in my mind contributed to this.

I mean, even though he went through with the fight, we all saw last week clearly how much Bubba did not want to fight Uriah, and that Josh clearly tried dodging him at every turn.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not sayin that Uriah does nt have some serious ability, I just think quite a sizeable myth or legend in being propagated about the guy, and is contributin on his opponents crumbling in ways they usually wouldn't. And I'm not dissing Hall for taking advantage if this, heck, it prize fighting, grab every advantage you can within the rules.

Also, you guys looking for vids, Uriah fought for a team in the World Combat League, kickboxing version of the IFL a few years back. If you hit up YouTube three is a highlight video of some of his KOs and cool spots.

I agree, I don't think Kelvin is the type to mentally crumble.

I actually didn't think that Dylan would either, but to me,he kinda looked like he fought out of his usual ability and gameplay, and was kind of psyched out by Uriahs aura.
