Has any reasonably prominent MMA fighter gone up in weight and done better at that weight class than their previous one? Guys like Ross Pearson don't count (guys that go down to an unhealthy/unnatural weight class, do poorly there, and return to their original one).

Anderson is about the only example I can think of. Shields also did pretty well at MW during that 6 year winning streak.

Any others?

Dan Henderson but he moved up and down.

Anderson started at 168 and you can't get any better than what he did as a MW.

BJ Penn was good at WW, but was much better as a LW.  Anderson started out at WW, but is genuinely better at MW.

I agree on both of those.

Ya BJ had a bit of Success so did Matt Sera moving up to WW both won belts. But in BJ's case he was infinitely better at 155. Sera was a good fighter at both weights but never won a title at LW so a case can easily be made he was better at the higher weight.

Rumble at 205 and heavyweight? I guess reem don't count since he used to cut like 45 lbs to get to 205. While spong is not a full time mma fighter, ever since the reem fight he has looked better than ever.

Reem is a perfect example! He's a much better HW than LHW.

Randy Couture is the most successful, until after this weekend when Chael beats the #2 ranked pound for pound fighter. Phone Post 3.0

I agree about Aldo. I mean, he clearly beat Edgar, a guy who was the champ at 155 and beat the current champ at 155 in their second fight imho.

He could move up to 155 now and dominate Phone Post

We'll see how he puts on weight. His cardio is a problem as is, and putting on weight certainly won't help that. If he decides to take the Edgar approach and just fight at 55 cutting little to no weight, the bigger guys might be able to give him some problems.
