boxingman -
FloridaStriker - Put the spot light on him. Keep it on him while he is getting destroyed and embarrassed in a real fight. Remind the world that fighting and boxing are two different things

ahh nethier boxing or mma is fighting
newsflash,

there are just combat sports with different rules
and ofcourse the guy used to those rules will have the
advantage

fighting is something you see
on the street
in places like park lots, night clubs, malls, alley ways, bars whatever

not somewhere with rules and a ref yelling

are you ready lol

Wow, you are such a hardcore individual, geeze, no one mess with this guy - such toughness communicated in his words...must be alpha of the streets

Fury had a recent 8 round decision against a can.  He's not impressive.  Either of the Klitch brothers would KO him in under 4.  If Fury were to fight Cain, Cain would muscle him and get him down.  Fury would be hamburger.  Fury doesn't have the feet.  If you compare today's heavyweights to the guys in the 60's, 70's, & 80's it is a much weaker field of fighters today than there has ever been.  Fury is a linear champ with a belt either Kitch would easily take from him via rape.  Fury is just talking out of his ass for attention.  Not in a million years would he ever get in with Cain, no chance whatsoever.  His promoters would be shitting themselves because of what could happen to his image and marketing potential should he get in with a solid MMA heavy.  Boxing and MMA are completely different approaches and employ different techniques.  There is an overlap with some striking but even that is relatively minimal because the striking in MMA is vastly different, as are the rules.  If we were talking just straight boxing, no take downs, and a fight in a ring with boxing rules, Fury would have an advantage, but in MMA his only chance would be a flash KO countering a takedown, but in boxing there are lots of styles where you have guys who swarm and clinch and get inside easily without being countered because it is hard to adjust for someone coming at you like that.  Obviously Fury has never watched any MMA and has no real knowledge of what he would be dealing with, but if he were stupid enough to fight Cain, or his promoters were stupid enough to let him fight Cain, it would be a massive detriment to his career and his psyche.  He would recover from the beating, but mentally after being brutalized like that I doubt he'd come back a better boxer or mentally stronger, plus his marketability would be diminished greatly.  It would hurt boxing's heavyweight division for years because no one would recognize that division as being the toughest after seeing one of the higher-ranked fighters get straight pulped.  There is too much to lose and it would be a horrible proposition to seriously consider it as a promoter.  I don't think it'll happen.  No way.

I dont think Fury would walk through Cain in a stand up fight as easy as we may think.

Fury may and should have better striking but he is very over rated as a boxer and Cain is a lot stronger than Fury's last opponent.

Take nothing away from Cunningham he did drop Fury and did well to stay as long as he did in a mauling fight that favoured the bigger guy in Fury.

The fight before Cunningham showed how raw Fury is.Not sure what money Fury would generate in UFC,he is popular in UK but not as big as Ricky Burns or Amir Khan and has no where near the popularity of Carl Froch but one thing he can do is talk it up.

Evidence is in this thread.lol

Fury fucking sucks. Klitschko kills him in boxing, Cain kills him in mma. I appreciate Dana telling him to step up but don't give this clown any attention.

ssj - Fury got the height and reach?

Cain is susceptible to good striking, e.g. JDS and Kongo ..

Fury early flash KO possibly
Absolutely not...
He will get taken down easily, will get cut open, bleed like a stuffed pig all over the ring and end up tapping due to strikes losing a little part of his soul in the process. Phone Post 3.0

Isn't it a little insecure to have him fight a champion? If a boxer has nothing for an MMA fighter, shouldn't he be invited to fight an unranked HW? Phone Post

Blah....

So over the boxing vs MMA thing. Of course Cain (With a fucking top tier wrestling pedigree) would beat a pro boxer in an MMA match. Of course Fury would beat Cain in the boxing ring, does it matter?

You're all tough

Both sports are fucking awesome.

agree but clearly Fury doesn't. This guy is calling out Cain, and he should have his card pulled.

It's a stupid match up, fury is just trying to up his publicity, it's sad at how many people use this angle( in what ever industrie) to further them self financially and not through hard work, although for punishment Dana should just publicly put up a winner takes all contract up for grabs if he really thinks he will win he'll take it, if not it proves he's an insecure pussy. The beauty about this is that Cain won't sub him on the mat, he'll punish him with strikes until fury taps from punishment/ frustration at cains positioning/ work rate from the top, fury will not know which way to turn/ move/ escape Phone Post

fatNlazy - boxing > MMA

remember what happened to former mma champ tim sylvia..

Cain would in the first, and he wouldn't need a take-down to do it. One leg kick and Fury faints like a girl.

Ask Trevor Berbick, ran out of the ring crying. Boxing just isn't a martial art, it's not fighting, it's one-dimensional and the fact is that Fury doesn't have the skillset to compete. He's limited.

GSP would wreck him. So would Jose Aldo.

Sadly Fury is getting what he wants out of this, publicity. Read that Haye is up for fighting him, lets see if Fury has the bottle. Would love to see Haye knock him out. Phone Post 3.0
