After less than a month of training bjj I entered a naga tournament and ended up getting 1st place in my division. My coach Charles "Chainsaw" McCarthy gave me the nickname "Naga Jim" the next day. Phone Post

I've always chirped my friends. About 8 years ago, I was being referred to as "the parrot". (the kind that sits on the shoulder of a pirate and chirps the fuck out of people). haha! Fast forward to 2009, I started training in BJJ. Some of my same friends decided to translate "the parrot" into brazilian portuguese. "Papagaio" was born.

After about 2 years of BJJ training (white/4 stripes back in 2007) I noticed how few leg locks were taught at my BJJ school, in spite the fact that they seemed so noticeably effective in combat. I began to ask higher grades to teach me every leg lock they knew. We met on weekends, after class, at my house... I just wanted to learn them. And it actually didn't take that long to get reasonably good at them.

Skip ahead a year...

I am walking home from a family gathering at a restaurant with one of my sons. It's late, very late. About 1 am. We get assaulted by 3 dudes. Out of nowhere, I get grabbed from behind, my son gets kicked in the ribs and puched to the ground. (I'm also quite a few beers into the evening at this point).

It's all a bit hazy, but almost instinctively I ducked and rolled for a leg. I was basically lying on top of him, facing up, with his leg wedged just above my crotch and his knee cap just over my hips. I hugged that leg like it was Allison Stokke's, and thrust my hips into it just the same. I also collected a few kicks and punches from the other guys.

After a few seconds it snapped. I could hear it... and boy did he scream! And with completely imperfect, yet effective technique, I rolled it into a heel hook. I almost did a complete 360 with his foot rolling at the knee joint.

All the commotion and scuffle seemed to stop at this point. I got up, grabbed my son and ran down the road. The other guys ran over to their buddy.

My son and I arrived home covered in blood, scratches and bruises. We both look at each other and he raises his hand to high five me and says: "Whoa fuckin ANKLE BENDER".

My son had 2 broken ribs and I had a badly broken nose, which I ended up needing extensive surgery on... but nothing like the surgery and rehab time that punk needed for his leg ;)

I started training at an MMA school and had been taught that you kick with shin not the foot.

I then learned that I really didn't enjoy striking and i don't think i've thrown a kick (let alone a head kick) in about 8 years.

So yeah my name is dumb.

Well this one dude does karate and drinks pee, and this other dude.. well he wasn't a very nice person. Now what contrasts better than a master of both modern and traditional martial arts and the psychological factors associated, and a charismatic, intelligent man who is a complete psychopath and killed many people. Most think it's about Al. Nope. Phone Post 3.0

Can't find my original post on here but when I first joined, after too many years of lurking, it was Rico Velasquez. After my first two favorite HW's.
Than I lost a SN bet and changed it to ConditJustGSPdhispants (or something like that).
I chose to change it to DodgerDogie because I'm True Blue and my 120lb blue nose is named Dodger.
The 13?
Pues soy sureño y que???
Lol
Nah, I just carry it well. Phone Post 3.0

CapnKindBud - I used to rent a yacht every once in a while, when I lived in California in my early days of weed growing, and I would have awesome buds in small jars on the deck with the first name of each guest written on them with a sharpie. When my friends and a few fellow growers would arrive and receive the gifts they would really be appreciative and we would party all day!
I did it twice one year when I would grow a new killer strain. They appreciated it and I enjoyed doing this stuff.

So I had a little going away party before I moved and a couple of them got me an old trophy cup and had this engraved on it:
To Capn Kind Bud: May you sail the sea with the greatest of ease and happiness, power & speed.,..We all will be there with nary a care because you grow the kindest of weed.
The name stuck with them and I've used it on a couple of online things!

Marry me.
