So he has a hand and a neck issue. Bisping is a gamer though so he will probably try to get on a card in 2 months

Stenosis is the narrowing of the spaces in the spinal column. It can pinch nerves and if left untreated, the muscles can atrophy. So the stenosis is "trapping" or "pinching" the nerve which can then (for all intents and purposes) paralyze the muscle the nerve enervates. Prolonged paralysis causes the muscle to atrophy or waste away.

Hole I'm not sounding like a know it all, couldn't tell if your question was rhetorical or wondering what the difference was.
