Wicked smahtMF - lol @ UGers BSing about GSP "outstriking" and "most sig strikes" like George is anything close to the upper echelon of mma striking! Why does george take guys trying to bang with him down then? Why does George throw virtually ZERO combinations? gtfoh naive nut huggers

lol @ rating someone's skill as a "striker" based on whether or not they want to stand and bang like Chris Leben. GSP is absolutely in the HIGHEST echelon of mma striking, and has proved this by out-striking Penn, Diaz, Thiago Alves, etc. His style is evasive by nature, but never think that just because he doesn't prefer to plod forward throwing combinations of haymakers that he is anything but a ninja-level striker.

ur delusional

MMAjustice - I don't think their is anyone in MMA more committed to continuous improvement than GSP.

Seems like one the the only fighters who is ALWAYS training, skill building, and working on getting better at everything.

Even when he dosn't have a fight scheduled his is working, working, working...

Anderson is also always training. That's the difference between martial artists like GSP and Anderson, and fighters like Rampage who did nothing until they had a fight booked...

Learning new skills? Continually improving?

Then how come his fights are so predictable? Superman punch, jab, takedown, elbows, spinning back kick, etc?? He never shows any new techniques.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

GSP is adding to his arsenal so that when he eventually faces someone that can deal with his style he can completely surprise them and use different techniques. Until that happens, why would he change? What he does now works incredibly effectively... Phone Post 3.0

Exactly. Like when he busted out the jab against Koscheck. It's been his go-to weapon ever since. Phone Post

It's amazing how quickly people forget how good GSP's fight with Condit was for someone off an 18 month lay off.  GSP used all striking tools in that fight.  He was right there in the line of fire to be caught with a beautifully executed head kick, and then one of the best known finishers in the sport, was able to unload ground and pound, and GSP, like a warrior recovered, not only did he recover, he came back to control the remainder of the round.  Aside from that kick, GSP was clearly the better striker vs Condit.  If you think all he did was try and jab Condit, you are a fuckin tool.  If you think that fight was not well worth the nomination it received from ESPN for FOTY, you are a loser.  That fight had everything, but lets pretend like it never even happened haters.   Lets see any of these other shit talking bums like Matt Brown do better off 18 months vs Carlos Condit.  If Matt Brown wants to see GSP finish someone, he just needs to get himself a title shot.

I agreed with you all the way up until the Matt Brown hate, lol.

Matt Brown is awesome! Phone Post 3.0
