What is righteousness? It's an act in according to divine or moral law.
Another words follow Gods commands.

Romans 1:17
For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”

Romans 3:25
God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished—

Romans 10:3
Since they did not know the righteousness of God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness.

1 Corinthians 1:30
It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.

2 Corinthians 5:21
God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Good example. They did not know Gods commands. So sought to establish their own. They did not submit to Gods divine commands.

One way to understand Righteousness is to cast it against Piety.  God doesn't want Piety he wants Righteousness.

Soooo your saying do not follow God's commands? Sounds like a new age philosophy to me.
