As of right now im REALLY skinny, Im about 5'8" and 148pounds. I'd like to put on a good 20 pounds, mainly/hopefully of muscle. What should I eat? How often should I workout? Any supplements that are recommended?

Thanks guys, Not sure if this is super vague, as i've never lifted weights in my life and i've never tried to really gain weight until now!

You laugh but it's true. Unlike most I'm not afraid just to try something just to try it and find out for myself. Phone Post 3.0

Nope.... Be skeptical. If that's your thing. I did it and it worked. Try it and find out for yourself. Best thing is I kept the weight. It wasn't just some gain then lose it by not taking it. I used it for about 6 weeks. Phone Post 3.0

Is there an amount of "time" I should be working out for? Or a certain amount of reps/sets?

This plus eat 500kcal above maintenance if you want to put on muscle and limit the amount of fat you gain.  Almost impossible to not gain some fat.

Let me first state I'm not certified or an expert, but this is what worked for me.

I would do squats, deads, leg extension, calf raises, hamstring work on one day, then the other workout day was pullups/chinups,bench press,dips,l-seat dips, pushups, and maybe a shoulder press or tricep extension to boot.

I would get at least 48+ hrs rest to allow my body to grow and recoop.

I did not worry about time. I would do 6-8 reps for 5 turns on all but dips and pullups, those I would do until failure. If I was maxing out on a exercise I would just try to do as many as I could, save that for turn 5 each exercise. Oh yah when dips and pullups are starting to get easy and you can bust a lot out, start adding weight.

It's all about progression, find a good starting point and go from there.

I did the 3-day Starting Strength and half GOMAD just over two years ago and went from 75kg to 81kg (165 to 178) in 6 weeks before I had to cut the program short.

I did go up to about 14% bodyfat but you couldn't really see it, I was just bigger. I'm not posting before and after pics because that's ghey
