I love the rules set and the way this tournament is run.  I'm also managing the women's division so I'd love to see a big turn out for the ladies (I know there is a lot of up and coming talent in NorCal especially).  If you missed the pre-registration use the code "OTM" or "worlds13" to get a 15% discount.  See you on the mat!

Gotta ask, why does it have to be so expensive? $210 for two events? $115 for just one? There are tournaments in Northern California every weekend for 1/3 that price with plenty of competitors.

Great rules, but I need a masters division. Too old to go for 15 min. And fat. And out of shape.

If you have young kids doing jiu-jitsu, you should sign them up for this. The organizers do a great job of making the kids feel comfortable and making sure they have a good time.

My 5 year old son participated at Gracie Nationals and had an amazingly positive experience. He went from the lazy kid always looking for excuses to get out of jiu-jitsu to begging me to take him to class. In class he is now the one paying attention to the technique, watching others spar, and working hard to get the moves right. The change after Gracie Nationals was immediate and has held true for the last 5 months.

If you have kids, and can make it, you really should take them to this tournament.

I'm so looking forward to refs having little power and can't wait to not deal with terrible ref decisions/calls :-) Phone Post 3.0

Eddie, make sure you tell your students about 'shutting down' their opponents by running away from them the entire time. You are guaranteed 30 golds that way.

RDA brought down 2 competitors and walked away with 2 Gracie World Champions.  Very proud of Donald Bowerman for winning the 185 pound brown belt division, and Byron Higinbotham who took the 205 purple belt weight class.  Both of them worked extremely hard for this and their dedication is inspiring.  Bravo!

Fun tourney. There is a lot of pressure relief knowing that if you give up a take down our side control, the match is still far from over. Phone Post

It's was an awesome event like Eddie said a bunch of epic submission battles. I really look forward to this event growing. Also very important to mention that it was a very fair event and because of the rules no one got screwed on bad point calls or judges decisions. Phone Post
