André Galvão, multi-Jiu-Jitsu and ADCC champion who helped in training led by Ramon Lemos.

In an interview with PVT, Andrew talked about the training of the Spider.

Makes a lot of sense. Bring in one of the best BJJers on earth to prepare for one of the best wrestlers in MMA. How about bringing in some world class wrestlers?

Toxoplasmia?

Andre has been in there with Chris and beat him on the ground. That is valuable experience. Smart move by the spider goat. Phone Post 3.0

So 15 minutes worth of experience is better than having a world class wrestler mimc Weidman?

You have toxoplasmia too? There are 1,000 wrestling things that Weidman will do that Galvao will not. It's a smart move if Silva was fighting a submission guy like Maia.

"with less than 2 years of bjj training."

ADCC is not a bjj tournament, it's submission grappling. Weidman has a lifetime of grappling experience.

And if anybody here has grappled with Andre, they would truly get it. Andre chewed me up and spit me out in ridiculous style! Funnest beating ever maybe. Phone Post

Truth. 2 years of bjj is a deceptive description. Chris has wrestled for 20 years. Phone Post

It's obviously impossible that he is training with wrestlers as well. Phone Post

Silva has beaten better wrestlers than Weidman. He says hes gonna sub him so why not train with a sub master? Phone Post

Impossible, no? However, if you have been following his training camp for this fight, you would know there are no high level wrestlers in it that can mimic Weidman. Satoshi certainly helps a bit, but he's a Judoka. Gormley is the only wrestler in his camp, but the guy is MASSIVE and won't be able to replicate the speed. Plus there's a bigger risk of injury with a guy that big.

Of course, you can show me the error or where I missed the high level wrestler that he brought in to mimic Weidman, by simply copying and pasting a link or naming that wrestler.

It won't be the first time I've been wrong. Do it.

Because you have to take someone down to sub them and if they can't take you down they only have standing guillotines?

Just a wild guess.

Just makes more sense to bring in training partners that resemble your opponent in style, size, speed, etc. as much as possible. If you were to prepare against Roger Gracie, would you bring in Cael Sanderson? If you were to prepare for Jose Aldo, would you bring in Rani Yahya?

Regardless, it's probably a moot point as Andy is probably just going to KO him anyway.
