I love escapes that make the other guy look like an idiot, no matter their skill level. Will happily steal this. Phone Post

Not a knock on Joe Moreira but he is in no way as accomplished or skilled as Garcia. Then again, who is?

That second escape looks hard to execute.

Does anyone know where he's getting the leverage to break the grip?

Respectfully disagree that these take a lot of strength. When you hit them properly (and in the context of the whole escape system), they take no more strength than any other escape, relying on frames, leverage, timing, and momentum. I regularly use elbow push escapes to recover, escape, and reverse high level guys who are much larger and stronger than me. That's not to say they are bulletproof, but that's why they are part of a system, not just isolated moves. Phone Post 3.0

the left forearm framing in the neck is more powerful than his hug behind your head. as marcelo says, you might not break the grip totally but aim to create enough space to circle your head out

I'm talking about once he sneaks his arm inside. When I make the frame that it looks like he makes, it's VERY weak.

Hmm, with both hands connected, if you shrimp away while pushing that frame out until your arm is straight, it should become pretty strong. The key is to keep walking back until your arms are straight if the guy is really pushing back hard.

The key to that frame is to get your forearm across his throat, the harder he tries to keep his grip, the more he chokes his self.
