your an idiot who doesn't know about combat sports...

those were clearly real punches. His eyes rolled back, he fell head first into the canvase. Wiedman thru more real and hard punches. bounced his head around some more. and silva lost control of his limbs. Then was disoriented.

THat was a real KO

The level of denial is more surprising than the outcome of the fight.

This.

If you are throwing the fight you let Chris get that leg lock in the first.

DO NOT Buy my book!, MFCEO

Honestly I wish he would have just vacated the title instead of getting 600k to get knocked out.

Yeah, my brother was watching the fights at the house with me, as he has been for the last eight or more years, and he was yelling out that it was a set up.

I don't think that was fixed. I think he didn't show any respect and paid the price.

LETMEBANGBRO - Didn't throw the fight but didn't seem to care if he won or lost.

He fought the same way he always does. Weidman just wasn't playing along.

I guess he wanted to lose without retaining any dignity at all, hence his clowning & disrespecting his opponent right before getting KOed. Real sneaky, that guy. I guess giving up a submission would've been too obvious.

Just like when Franklin ko'd Shamrock.

UFC works fights, too. Sorry to tell you. Weidman will provide them marketing revenue for years to come. This is known as "passing the torch", "doing the honors", etc. Phone Post 3.0

The people who are upset probably lost money on the fight. Silva is also an entertainer inside the Octagon. When he did that stuff and won, people hailed him as doing "matrix type shit". It is part of the "Silva show". He just happened to get caught and paid dearly for it. Phone Post 3.0

Haven't heard anyone say they weren't real punches.

He did however take the shots on purpose and thus essentially threw the fight.

I'm not sure if I'm taking trollbait here, but I think it was pretty clear that Shamrock got clipped with a punch right as he went to drop for an achilles lock, which is why it looks so weird. If fights were going to be fixed, it would be by submission, not brain-damaging knockout.

He did the same thing he always does and this time he got hit moving into a short left hook. It could've happened in any of his fights. It just so happens that it happened in this one. Wiedman has good reach and timing and he clipped him.

I sincerely doubt he got KO on purpose.

There's no evidence to support it either. Other than people being unable to live in the real world where a 200lb man can KO anyone if he hits them clean.

If you were fans thru the Fedor era we've been thru this before. People buy so hard into the myth that they can't handle it when the guy finally loses.

If you follow the sport closely you'll see this happens all the time. Better fighters get caught by worse fighters or zig when they should've zagged.

Look at Barbosa vs Varner. Barbosa probably wins that fight 9/10 times. But he got caught. No one said it was fixed though because the Barbosa cult of worship wasn't established yet

Anderson was going above and beyond his normal antics. We saw him doing this against Damion, but Damion doesn't have nearly the firepower that Chris does.

Congrats to Chris. Mix feelings about the fight. Anderson still did some amazing things in there. Phone Post 3.0

Yeah..Anderson wasn't confident he would win. He's like that kid that doesn't try on the test because then when he fails he can be like "whatever I didn't try anyways'
