Ray Longo and Lou Neglia talk with Ring Fever about developing kids from the neighborhood into world champions.

Both Matt Serra and Chris Weidman were trained by Longo and fought for Neglia's Ring of Combat, which has seen over 100 UFC fighters on their way up.

"As a coach… everyone wants at least one champion," said Ray Longo. "To have two, and to have them both start as young kids, or young adults that are from the neighborhood…"

Neglia picked up the thought, adding "and both score the biggest upsets in history of MMA, which is incredible."

The talk naturally turned to Chris Weidman's upset KO of Anderson Silva at UFC 162, and the rematch at UFC 168 at the traditional New Years event, which will be on Dec 28.

There has been a tinfoil hat talk that the fight was a work, and hurt fans called it a fluke or accident. However, Longo says the fluke talk could make Weidman mad, and you don't want to make him mad.

"Any time you have a guy that’s considered unbeatable, the aftermath, especially right after there, people were confused. I mean, the Brazilians, they didn’t know what to do.

"He did it with Forrest, he did it with Bonnar. Weidman does it, and it’s not acceptable. If he would have missed with that left hook, Silva comes back with a right hand and drops him, he’s a hero. I think anybody who’s in the know doesn’t pay any attention to that.

"Nobody’s taking that victory away. We all know what happened, and anybody who’s worked out with him, sparring or wrestling, they know he’s going to do it again. If they motivate him by saying this was a fluke, he might kill a guy, yeah, he’ll hurt him... he's that type of guy, yeah."

"You're taking a 40 year old man who got his head bounced off the canvas. Like what doctor is he going to that is going to reccomend that he get back in there? 'Couple of months, that's good.' Just had a major concussion. 'Yah put him in that's good...' Guy's 40 years old, he's got a big task ahead of him..."

Oh yeah? Anyway...I read it on the main site. I will be pulling for Silva as usual. I just hope he comes in with a great game plan and an even greater mindset. Phone Post

First off, it was a fluke, just like when Serra beat GSP. Props to both Serra and Weidman, they accomplished what few others could, but the rematch will be similar to the GSP/Serra rematch,
Anderson will absolutely destroy Weidman. Second, we haven't seen a motivated Silva lately, at least it hasn't seemed like we have, other than the Chael fights. Silva will be motivated and he will destroy Weidman and prove the fluke, just like GSP did to Serra. Two champions, both flukes, but still great accomplishments, but then again still flukes. Anthony Silver never said it was a fluke himself, so I don't see how fluke talk could hurt Tony Silva unless he thought it was a fluke himself.

If you go in there with the aim to beat the man across from you and you beat him, it is not a fluke. Phone Post 3.0

First off you're wrong in virtually every sentence.

What Weidman did wasn't a fluke. See Jack Slack's thread, listen to Weidman and his trainers who discussed the specifics of what he did, and how MOST pros picked Weidman. Fluke is the wrong word here. Denial...yours, is the proper word. Haterade, would be another.

Secondly, Serra is a piss poor analogy. He punched GSP behind the head. That wasn't a fluke, it was either an accident or Serr intentionally cheated. Neither is a fluke.

Thirdly, saying the rematch will look like Serra/GSP II shows you to be a Nostradumbass. GSP wasn't 40 in the rematch. Silva doesn't wrestle, so won't be wailing at the side of Weidman while he's turtled. Saying things like "Anderson will absolutely destroy him." is EXACTLY what you Nostradumbasses said leading up to the first fight and surely, you will - like you cowards did then - will pretend your asshole posts and threads and prophecies didn't exist.

Yes Chris might win again.

But is there really any room for threats in mma? He knocked silva Unconscious and tried to hit him as many times as he could before the ref stopped it. What els is he going to do tap him? Maybe but a Worthless Statement to make regardless.

Maybe it's them that should worry about a highly Motivated and focused Anderson. Phone Post 3.0

i'm pretty sure Chris fought the best fight he could, and he certainly didn't hold back from smashing Silva a couple good ones til the ref pulled him off when he was already down and out. Not sure what him getting all pissed off could do to make him more vicious, rather than making him abandon his gameplan.

First fight was a fluke, was weird as fuck and if anyone is going to die, its going to be the guy who wasnt joking around in a title fight. Chris had a great corner that could see through the dumb shit Silva was doing and he capitalized. Next fight will contain 0 fuckery. Chris is doomed. Phone Post

Weidman was the first one who didn't give a fuck about Anderson's power, ate everything he threw(not much) and proceeded to go forward and get the KO. Fluke.

I don't think fluke means what you think it means.... A fluke means it was a freak accident...if you want to say that Weidman got a little lucky, fine..but calling it a fluke makes literally no sense at all.. Phone Post

It's all about replication. If u cannot repeat your feat in a million attempts it's a fluke. That said I don't think it was a fluke, I think it was excellent game planning. Phone Post 3.0

You started off great until you started calling what serra did the back of the head. It was not illegal in any way, nor an accident. It landed behind the ear in a perfectly legal spot. Not part of the "mo-hawk" area. Phone Post
