yea and then the guys who fight at 185/195/205 will jump around through all of them after they lose one or two. no thanks.

I HATED Boxing for this. I actually prefer 5 weight classes only total:

LW
WW
MW
LHW
HW

I like the idea

The one downside I see is that it things out an already thin 205 lb division. Beyond the usual revolving names - Dan, Rashad, Shogun, Machida, etc - who, beyond Alex, Glover, David and Bader, is left to complete a 205 lb lineup?

The first point you made is a very good one, I'll give you that.

But only 5 weight classes for the biggest MMA org with a roster of what 400+ fighters doesn't make sense. Plus what about the smaller weight classes, 145lb is one of the best divisions currently.

And comparing it to boxing, their weight classes are like 4-7 lbs apart as opposed to 10 and there are several big organizations that all give belts that leads to the saturation. So, if the UFC did it, that's only 11 champions on a roster of 400+. With the UFC's continuing rapid growth, all the divisions will be competitive.

195, 205, 235, 265  it's going to happen, I don't know when but it will..

P.S.  I'd like to throw in Nedkov, Papi abeddi, Tim Boetsch and Roger Gracie into the 195 tournament

Hell no it won't. 235 weight class is just a horrible idea because the top heavyweights now and in the history of the sport have always been around 235, so there's no need to "protect" them from heavier fighters. Look at the top 4 heavyweights right now - Cain, dos Santos, Cormier and Werdum - ALL can easily make 235, cutting little to no weight.

Yeah, 235 is the worst idea ever.

You'd end up with a heavyweight division (236-265) whose best fighters would ALL lose to the guys in the division BELOW them.

What on earth is the point of that?

Im not a fan of having 185, 195 AND 205 weight classes. thats only like 5% of body weight difference between each. There really is no reason to have this...all it will do is water down 185 and 205.

I think it would be better to make 185, 200, and 220!! Now we are talking

Hopefully Belfort vs. Hendo will be at 195 to kick off this tournament.

When I become ruler of the world, anyone who suggest a 195 or a 225/235ish weight classes will be banned from watching or talking about MMA for the rest of their lives.

Instead of a division why not do a one time championship belt with the semi finals in NOV. Online voting to select the fighters from a list of 8. Machida, Sonnon, Frankln, Wand, Henderson, Evans, Anderson, Fedor.

Call it the UFC FOX Sports 1 Super-Middleweight Championship.

Hold it at the half time break during the SUPER BOWL on all channels like the Obama ad.

Not sure what you mean. You want to protect Cain, dos Santos, Cormier and Werdum from who exactly?
