SuMBJJ -  I think people have seen too many bad decisions at this point, so when a close fight goes the other way.... they're conditioned to overreact.

I think Gus 48-47 is the call... but the one judge scoring it 49-46 the other way highlights the issue. Phone Post

Oh I meant any major web site LOL. Any? Nope!

Bobby Lupo - We learned 4 things in this fight

1- Jon Jones can deal with adversity and come back to win.
2- Alex Gustafsson is a lot better than most of us thought he was
3- Alex needs to get his cardio up
4- MMA fans are still cunts

5 - Loops is right spanking on

Could you imagine how different the result would've been had Gustamante utilized that brilliant footstomp gameplan you thought up? My God.

I think people are extra mad because Jones couldnt take someone down, because he was injured, because he wasnt fighting at full capacity, because he wasnt dominating, because someone was finally giving him a good go.....and still lost.

Jones, like Aldo with Hominick, like GSP with Condit, like Anderson with Chael, now has a title defense in which he was pushed and barely won but still won and showed his heart more than anything else to do it.

The one thing Jones haters thought they could still hold on to was that Jones had no heart. That is now crossed off....and they mad as hell.

Don't really disagree but I'm searching for the racial undertones in this thread before I just dive in...

Great post, Abe. I had Jones 3-2 but it was super close. The vagina monologues going on here reminds me of Rampage/Griffin. Another very close fight that had people screaming robbery and fix because their guy didn't win. Bobby Lu is correct, mma fans are whiny cunts nowadays. Phone Post

had jj winning but it was close and i expected a split dec. his gameplan sucked. taking him down or clinch fighting against the fence were better plans than standing with a kickboxer. but jj was all hurt and still turned it on huge late to win, and gained a new level of respect

I sent it to him. I felt like Dana watching Chuck-Rampage 1. If he just followed the plan.....

I think it was good for all of us. MMA was getting a little stale occasionally.

6. Jones realizes he is not as good as he previously thought.  Any slacking in the gym or feelings of invincibility (boxing a Klitschko, "my legacy") have been slapped with stark reality.  Jones comes back from his very close and tough decision win stronger, hungrier, and more dangerous.

Voted UP Abe.  Good thread.
