Tim Kennedy has always been vocal about his opinion on the subject of TRT. He is against athletes being allowed to use it and to him it's embarassing to be part of a sport that allows it:

He doesn’t have an exemption because he failed an anabolic steroid test, so the athletic commissions won’t give him a TUE because he failed a previous test. That’s why he medically needs it, because he used anabolic steroids, and he got caught for it. Now he needs TRT and nobody will give him that exemption because he used steroids.

It’s embarrassing to be part of the sport and have athletes that are manipulating the system like that. It’s mixed martial arts, and it’s supposed to be about integrity and character and all the things that go with being a martial artist. This is obviously a spit in the face of every martial artist out there. It’s demeaning, it’s embarrassing. It’s not good for the sport, it’s not good for him, it’s not good for the championship, and it’s not good for the promotion. I don’t know, is there anything good about it besides for the cheater? I mean, that’s the only person that benefits from it;

1. For using it and,

2. For using it as a tool or an ace up the sleeve to try to create a situation that he could, yet again, take advantage of and cheat.

Tim is right about this one.

In addition to what he said, it is sickening that a sport that involves hitting people in the head allows such blatant PED use.

Boxing has provided plenty of empirical evidence of repeated head shots causing brain damage. MMA itself has seen a number of guys that took too many shots. People taking these PEDs then going out there and beating on another human being shouldn't just be fined or banned from the sport, they should be in jail.

If a guy has low testosterone, then he should either fight with the hand he's been dealt, or not fight at all. Men's testosterone levels lower as they get older.

The young guys are supposed to overtake the old guys. It's a cycle. That's how the game works. What Vitor is doing is cheating nature.

Bozzy - Tim Kennedy is just mad all the TRT in the world wouldn't improve his striking.

If TRT brings Vitor's test levels back to that of a normal average man, then how is that cheating? If anything he's at a disadvantage without it. Its a medical condition.

This is like an Olympic runner telling everyone a double leg amputee is embarrassing for getting prosthetic legs to try and compete with him at the highest level.

It's almost shameful. Vitor is a great story.

So you want vitor to retire? It's because of trt, we can see long time legends like belfort still fight at the highest level. Now the young guys get a chance to fight the living legends like Vitor as if he's still in his prime when he's already 36. He fought Anderson with trt and still lost so it goes to show that you don't need trt to win. He's lost with trt and he's won with it to Phone Post 3.0

Couldn't agree more. Explaining TRT to my friends is embarrassing. Hendo is the one case I can maybe understand due to his age, but having these elite athletes in their 20's and 30's needingthe synthetic testosterone is a joke and needs to stop in order to preserve the integrity of MMA competition. Belfort has every right to manipulate the bullshit system thats in place. as do his competitors

the real argument is with the exemption at all. it really seems to be handed out randomly. just let them do it but make them disclose it. fighters without will still be seen as more elite for being able to take down inflated supermen.

it really seems pointless. all the suspensions and ducking. just let them do what they are going to do and be open about it.

Anyone wearing glasses or contact lenses in a sport shouldnt be allowed to compete with them on either. Either play blind or retire. They are cheating nature.

You think putting a lens over your eyeball is akin to regularly injecting yourself with synthetic testosterone?

Who's the idiot? Phone Post 3.0

Corrective lenses don't give you super human eye sight. They correct ones vision to normal standards. If TRT is administered properly and not absused it corrects ones testosterone levels within normal range.  Some peoples eye sight deteriorates at an earlier age, the same situation as with testosterone. To argue "it's just nature" with testosterone would be exactly the equivalent with eye sight. Just because one is used to people wearing glasses, and it's considered normal, doesnt change the analogy one iota. It's the same thing. Who's the idiot?

Vitor has the added curve ball in this of accelerating or even creating the damage to his testosterone level through steroid use, which is why he is getting problems being allowed to use TRT. Eyes deteriorating are not from injecting them with some "super sight" formula so it's not even on the two issues.

A lot of these guys gambled with something in the past no one knew the long term effect of. Now they do and then get mad when people say "well giving people the opportunity to abuse something under the guise of fixing that damage is iffy and gives a cheaters a new lifeline".

Yes it can also result from natural deterioration, the fact that you can't tell 100% is why there's a problem and on one side people say if you can't tell, no one should get it, and on the other, they say just risk it.

I'm still not sure where I fall, all I know is Vitor is a narcissist who has been a proven cheater, he doesn't deserve lifelines.

All you are doing is moving the goal-post. Why his testosterone is low or why someones vision is not perfect is of no consequence. So you would allow people with  low testosterone who didnt abuse steroids to partake in TRT but not Vitor?  How about someone who screwed their own vision up? If its in normal range it shouldnt matter. It's ridiculous how some people see some things as ok and not something else that is perfectly identical. Is having a titanium screw or metal rod in your arm cheating also?  Is Arthur Abraham who has two  titanium sheets in his jaw a cheater?  Barreras metal plate in his skull a cheater?  Paolo  Vidoz titanium plate in his jaw a cheater? Or are they ok by your standards?

No I said, since you can't determine it, I have no opinion, but if you';ve been caught for steroids, you shouldn't be complaining because he's a cheater that doesn't deserve trust.

If they could determing why, then I would personally say they should live a happy life on it but not compete because they gambled, got caught and this is part of the result for me. The muddy waters right now, is because you can't tell what did the damage, until you can, half the people are going to say yes and half say no, and if fence sitting is what that will come out of it, Vitor should shut his mouth and prove to commissions how they ask him to that he can be trusted.

Until you make it all legal if that ever happens, you have to draw some line, and if you can figure it out how their Testosterone is lower, then the cheaters should face consequences and be barred from using it to compete.

So because vitor Cheated once in his 16 year career he should forever fight at a disadvantage. It's not like his fighting at an advantage cause hes being tested throughout camp. As long as hes not over the limit, I don't get why anyone is bitching Phone Post 3.0

You guys are  hilarious lolol.  Vitor wouldnt need trt if he didnt juice his brains out his whole life, so tell me again why is it fair that he needs TRT and is allowed to use it now?

LOL that Dana said he was serious about getting serious about the use of TRT only to let a proven cheat compete outside the US (because he can't use inside the US as a proven cheat). He caused his own dilemma, there is just no way he should be allowed to fight with TRT.
