Which pay structure do you prefer/think is better for the sport?

The capitalist heaven of boxing, where the top 5 richest boxers make more than the combined earnings of 99.9% of the poorest boxers,

or

The socialist paradise of the UFC, where there's a high minimum wage, health benefits and the wealth is shared between the workers?

UFC - but I wish the base pay would be higher than those reported. "UFC fighters" are meant to be the best in the business Phone Post 3.0

There is no high minimum wage in MMA. That myth is retarded. The top 50 boxers all earn boatloads more than their MMA counterparts.

Go look at Floyd Mayweathers Instagram. He made more money last year than every MMA fighter prob in the history of MMA combined. And he has made even more this year.

This is not a discussion. If you could be the best at either sport you would choose boxing 100 times over. Phone Post 3.0

Do you think it's better that Floyd gets to chose exactly who and when to fight? Would you prefer to see him fight 3 times a year against whoever fans wanted to see most?

It still goes to promoters in boxing; Mayweather Promotions, Golden Boy Promotions, Sugar Shane Mosely Promotions etc.

Mayweather is being driven into fights by public opinion. He can't make Bob Arum sacrifice Pacman.

But the people pushed him into the Mosley fight after he destroyed Margarito and nobody would fight him not even Pacman and Shane offered to drop to 142.

And the fans forced him into fighting Canelo above 147.

You may not like the fact that he is not fight 3 weight divisions above where he should be just to lose to make you sleep better at night. But he is fighting the who's who of Boxing. Phone Post 3.0

Well if the top boxer alone makes more than all MMA fighters combined.... In fact the top 2 are regularly ranked 1 and 2 on the highest paid athletes. And it is quite clear that at least the top 50 are being paid boatloads more than their MMA counterparts is it not safe to say their is more money in boxing.

Outside if the UFC there is no money whatsoever in MMA... You will headline a show for 3k if you are lucky. Why would you actively shoot for the "chance" to make 8/8 with a glass ceiling at 250k with a chance for a bonus? Phone Post 3.0

It's not about which sport has more money, that's obviously boxing. I'm asking if you think it's better that the money is concentrated at the top or spread out more evenly.

As for other promotions, David Branch earned $16,000 to win the first fight of the night at WSOF.

UFC official pay is a public knowledge, how much do boxers make on the whole card, not just Mayweather, and his opponent.

It was to counter your idea that non-UFC main eventers only get $3K (if they're lucky). Here's the payouts for a non-PPV boxing card on HBO

Everyone, other than the main and co-main events, made less than $3K.

On the Mayweather vs Cotto PPV, Carlos Quintana fought in the first fight of the main card and made $23,000.

WSOF and Bellator are the tip top of all paying promotions outside the UFC. AXStv promotions pay even less than them. Everything off tv even less.

That 16 grand pay day in WSOF is like a gold mine compared to 98% of MMA fighters.

In reality only the top fighters in both sports make money. And boxers of course make more. Phone Post 3.0
