There should be a 5 round rematch with Robbie and Rory. That fight was a draw IMO.

stevekt - Good to see this guy back in the ufc as an older, wiser, veteran fighter. I watched the Manhoef fight a few days ago to get psyched for the Rory fight. Phone Post 3.0
And still only 31! We get to see Robbie bang for years to come.

Matt,

What's the most obvious difference for him at 170 vs. 185? You'd think he'd lose a speed advantage but he actually looks faster than ever. And, congratulations to Robbie and you for.a HUGE win. Phone Post 3.0

This wasn't the only fight I cared about, but it was my personal co-main event. I watched at a sports bar, and I was on my bar stool rocking and twitching and half-participating like that Chuck Liddell gif. I loved seeing the joy he felt in the octagon.

Robbie's aura is on a different level right now. Seeing him win (and how he did it) last night made me so happy. His re-emergence is really something. WAR ROBBIE!!! Phone Post 3.0

Dana White is absolutely correct, those organizations paid Robbie a lot of money to be one of the main faces of their divisions. Those organizations held most of their talent at 185lbs divisions, that's where they told Rob to fight. I was praying for the moment Rob could return home to the UFC to fight guys his size. The fact that Rob was fighting well against guys that were 25 lbs heavier than him on fight night is a testament to his ability. I get asked all the time what the biggest difference between now and then. ATT has been tremendous and Robbie continues to learn there, but the biggest difference is nobody can hold him down at 170. He's just too strong. So it opens him up to be able to use his feet and legs like we've been seeing. We know we aren't gonna get held on the ground. At the time when Hughes was ending his career, it was so frustrating knowing that I still had the best welterweight in the world next to me and those organizations were destroying his potential by doing catch weight fights between 205lbers when Rob should have been back at 170lbs. I couldn't wait for Rob to fight Koscheck and GSP at the time. Thank God the UFC came calling. Thank You Dana! Rob is thrilled to be fighting in the UFC again, I never seen him happier and fighting with so much purpose.

I've been a huge fan since the begining.

I've  only rooted against him once when he fought my friend,

I was on my feet in my living room last night,  I hope he gets the title.  He deserves it.

His comeback against Melvin Manhoef (which was fought completely in the standing position) showed me several things about Robbie.

1. He is not afraid of anyone, not even a K-1 level striker in Manhoef

2. He will never quit

3. You can never count him out of any fight, ever

4. He has the heart of a warrior

Thanks for the insight Matt, very appreciated and the reason I love this place. Any chance we can get Robbie to make an account and say what's up?

I cant make any promises on that one. Robbie has opened up tremendously in accepting his role as a MMA Star, but I'm sure he's spending his time with his wife and sone who hasnt seen like five or six months out of this year getting ready for fights in Florida. Hope folks can appreciate that dedication to his craft and his family when the war is over. My best regards to all of you!!! Better things are on the way folks, believe it!!!!
