Can anyone reccommend a not well known, or under rated movie worth watching?

No, that was some not well known movie about terrorists and fat guys with tits. Heard it was pretty good too. I might Google it. Phone Post 3.0

"Crumb" It's a documentary about cartoonist R Crumb and his weird family. I'm not sure if it qualifies as unknown.

Monument Ave. (1998)

About a group of friends in Charlestown, MA, low level hoods, and the whole code of silence in that neighborhood. It kind of has a bit of a Mean Streets feel to it.

Cast: Denis Leary, Martin Sheen, Famke Jennsen, Colm Meaney, Billy Crudup, Noah Emmerich, Lenny Clarke

Directed by Ted Demme

Two Samurai flicks I like that are not very well known:

The Twilight Samurai.

After the Rain (based on Kurosawa's last script).

Dinner Rush (2000)

Cast: Danny Aiello, Edoardo Ballerini Kirk Acevedo, Summer Phoenix, Mark Margolis (Salamanca from Breaking Bad)

Aiello is a bookie who owns a restaurant in Tribeca. His son is the head chef but has this nouveau cuisine fancy schmancy menu. Kirk Acevedo is the sous chef who cooks the classic red sauce italian dishes that Aiello loves. All takes place over one night. An NYPD detective and his wife are there for dinner. As is a notorious food critic, an eccentric artist/art dealer/critic and two gangsters/bookies from queens are also at the restaurant, looking for a piece of the action with Aiello's restaurant and bookmaking.

(I would have just copied and pasted one of the summaries on imdb or rotten tomatoes but they either were semi-spoilerish, or contained inaccuracies)

Either way, very enjoyable movie.

Not sure how "unknown" it is, but Green Street Hooligans is a great flick I've never heard of until I saw it. Elijah Wood is a mellow guy that gets caught up in his brother - in - law's soccer club. Phone Post 3.0
