With a dominant, albeit controversial, win over Urijah Faber, UFC bantamweight champion Renan Barao has moved up two spots in the pound for pound rankings.

1     Jon Jones
2     Jose Aldo
3     Cain Velasquez
4     Renan Barao +2
5     Demetrious Johnson -1
6     Chris Weidman -1
7     Anderson Silva
8     Anthony Pettis
9     Ronda Rousey
10     Johny Hendricks
11     Vitor Belfort
12     Benson Henderson
13     Urijah Faber
14     Gilbert Melendez
15     Alexander Gustafsson *NR

view entire rankings...

Barao is now undefeated in twenty eight straight fights, including nine in the UFC/WEC. He has also finished three straight opponents in title defenses.

Although Jose Aldo also defended his title successfully, his inability to finish Ricardo Lamas may or may not have been responsible for him stay in second place behind Jon Jones.

He should be above Cain, imo. And maybe Aldo too.

I do think Barao is top pound for pound. I think the list should be ever evolving. Performances matter. Aldo may not look like he is gonna lose, but he isn't looking like the world beater he used to. Barao looks unstoppable and confident. As of today my top 5 would look similar, but different order.

1. Barao
2. Jones
3. Johnson
4. Aldo
5. Velasquez

i had the Jones/Gus fight a draw or Gus winning by very little. Jones came close to ending the fight and i think that matters most. Jones isn't even 27 and is consider one of the best LHW's in the history of the UFC. that says a lot about Jones. i think the #1 spot is fair until Aldo starts finishing people regularly, Barao fights healthy Cruz and beats him, GSP returns as WW champ, or Jones gets injured for 1+ years.

If I were bigger, I'd beat you up for saying that.

I'm really small, but pound for pound, I'm awesome.

I usually shit all over UFC rankings, and obviously P4P rankings are particularly contentious, but this is a halfway decent list, IMO.
