The first one of the heavyweight tournament bracket with the former champ.

That's what I thought too. Those punches didn't look hard enough for his head to snap back the way it did Phone Post 3.0

Work= both fighters fake a fight

Dive= one fighter throws the fight while the other is unaware

That was a clear dive.

Volkov wasn't in on it.

That was one if the weakest takedown attempts ever. Then the way he just flops to his back and starts flopping around to pitter patter strikes is very suspicious Phone Post 3.0

Watching it live, I was thinking the only way those small punches would make his head bobble around like that  (other than a fix) was if he already had some kind of injury to his face, like an orbital fracture. He stayed on the mat for awhile afterward. I moved on to the next fight, so I may have missed something, but I did see a replay from a different angle that made the ground strikes look even less powerful than that gif.

Thats what I was thinking as well.

Either that guy had a broken nose or orbital fracture from an earlier strike or he just wanted out of there Phone Post 3.0

I definitely think that guy took a dive,
Shocked no major mma blog has talked about it (to my knowledge). I mean that guy was selling like a pro wrestler, In my eyes a blatant dive Phone Post 3.0

Eh, looks weird but honestly some guys just don't like to get hit in the face.  Plus it looks like he's actually hitting the guy right on his chin with the first few shots, whipping his head.  Might have been enough to daze the guy.

Volkov is huge and I'm sure he can generate a decent amount of power from that position, even if the shots are short. The guy he was no stand out and looked out of shape. Stranger things have happened.

I literally just finished watching the fight. The first thing I thought after watching the replay was that there has to be a thread on the UG about this. It was such a bad sell by the loser. His head moves back and forth even when Volkov wasn't hitting him. Phone Post 3.0
