Melvin Guillard released from UFC --

I hate this. In his last 3 fights he KOed Danzig, was about to KO Pearson before the accidental DQ, and then lost a decision to a great up-and-comer in Michael Johnson.

I hope so. I try not to miss any Melvin fights. His fights are usually exciting as hell.

2-5-1 in his last 8 is hardly anything worth keeping

Kinda weird, although I don't think he would've gotten cut if he had just gone out on his shield instead of "running" against MJ

Dana was bitching like a school girl after his last fight, about how he ran the whole time against Johnson. Not surprised. Phone Post 3.0

Not the first time he's been cut. Most likely a trip to the WSOF to pad his record a bit and he'll be back in no time . He'll never sign with Bellator if he has any aspirations at all of making it back to the UFC.

Wow, shocked to hear that. He's been such a mainstay for so many years. Besides, even though he seems to have declined a bit, he's certainly better than many guys left on the roster. Stout, Noons, Brenneman, Edwards, Damm, he beats all those guys, IMO.

Bitchy Dana was all crying that Melvin didn't get the KO in two minutes in his last fight so you knew this was coming.   So much for the Ross Pearson rematch.

Goes from co-main event to getting cut. Yeah that makes sense.

I always watch Melvin fight. Ya he us not that good but still he is better than 50% of the roster. Makes no sense. Rather see him on the prelims than some brazillians guy I never heard of first fight. Melvin is a somebody. When half of every card are new comers or nobodies it boggles the mind why they make these cuts.

But obvious is obvious. It's a money issue. UFC wants to pay fighters 8 and 8 and pay them literally nothing Phone Post 3.0

I was never a big Melvin fan, but I would usually watch him fight and he always come to fight. His last fight didn't say that but he does have the 3rd highest knockdown rate in the UFC and you could usually bet he was always exciting.

Dana wants people who come to fight, yet cuts guys who come to fight. I'm wondering is there more to this story? Did he ask to be released perhaps or something else. Hopefully WSOF/Bellator/CWFC pick him up.

Come people, Melvin is 2-5-1 in his last 8. He absolutely is exciting 90% of the time but let's stop pretending this is actually shocking. He has been losing a lot more than he has been winning the past couple of years. He is still young and absolutely can come back.

Not that shocking. Phone Post 3.0
