UFC will have terrible numbers on Sunday going up against NCAA and Walking Dead.

MMALOGIC is a cute little creature. Here's his take on the UFC's latest UK numbers:

UFN 37 Gus/Manuwa most watched MMA event in UK

an average of 591k tuned into channel 5 uk for a 10 minute tape delayed showing of gus/mauwa, the co main and a highlight show of the rest of the event with commentary from 9pm to 11pm.

the last live UFC event in the UK (machida vs munoz) pulled 32k viewers on bt sport which means UFC's audience grew around 20 times higher with this channel 5 deal (this event also aired live on bt sport with numbers not out yet).

This is exactly the type of audience growth the UFC needed in the UK.  If the UFC can maintain an audienc of around 600k the UK could be as valuable of a market as Canada for Zuffa which means more opportunities for fighters, events, etc...

in short quit crying about fightpass and let's talk gay bro hugs

PS.  dont forget to miss bellashit mma on spuke tv.

-------------

Here is Meltzer's take:

"The UFC from London main events airing on Ch. 5 in the U.K. on 3/8 did only 591,000 viewers, which is well down from what that station averages in prime time and less than half of what Tyson Fury boxing matches in that time slot have done. A boxing show in the slot the week before did 759,000 viewers and NCIS reruns usually do about 1 million viewers. In fact, UFC has done bigger audiences for shows out of prime time and tape delayed by weeks in the past when they had a deal. Ch. 5 aired Melvin Guillard vs. Michael Johnson and Alexander Gustafsson vs. Jimi Manuwa on about a ten minute tape delay (although it was presented as live) along with some other stuff. The numbers were only a little ahead of what BAMMA shows (a British MMA group) had done in the past. It’s a lot more viewers than usual, since UFC shows from the U.S. that air on BT Sports (middle of the night airing on a subscription channel) have been doing 20,000 to 50,000 viewers."

Yep, and the UFC couldn't even pull half of what NCIS re-runs pull.

How long until the UK channels quit showing UFC and replace it with boxing or NCIS re-runs?

They certainly can't keep showing UFC when they could be showing re-runs and get double the viewers.

they could pull more than that with COPS: Bobbies Edition reruns

dear person currently controlling watch bellator on spike. you should just hand the reigns over to one of the others. and quick. your use of terrible gifs as a reply is so much inferior to the multiple paragraphs of numbers person. he is much better at spinning than you.
