Anyone else have one of these?

My new job gave me one for my oncall phone. It's through AT&T and came with an unlimited plan.

This thing is super nice. Very well built, nice UI, big screen (without being comically oversized like some phones), etc.

I'm getting 20mbps speed with it on average. I'm pretty sure I'm going to cancel both my regular mobile (sprint - which barely gets 4g service at home) and my cable internet and just use this, thus saving $150 a month. Should work out as long as I don't get shitcanned.

Thinking about it. The camera seems to be the only knock on it per the reviews. Phone Post 3.0

^^^ Yes, that's what I read. But I don't take pictures. I could have picked anything AT&T offered. I came close to opting for the iphone 5s just because I've been using android forever. In the end, the M8 seemed better, plus I always liked being able to tinker like you can with an android.

I have the phone. Tomorrow will be a week.

The M8 camera is better than M7. And for daily snap shots the M8 is just fine. Average user won't notice just looking at pictures on phone or in emails/uploaded to FB. Compared to other high end phones when blown up or paying close attention to detail that is when see difference. But for most users it is just fine.

Took me a few days to get used t phone, been about 3 years since I carried Android. But now I am slowly getting it down pat and really starting to enjoy it. Still can't type as fast and miss few apps and few things here and there. But I am enjoying my decision and think over time I will enjoy it more and more

Nexus 5 is outdated compared to the M8. Also, the Nexus is built by LG. HTC has better build quality, IMO.

Should not matter.  Root it then put in a custom ROM without all of the bloatware.  It is alot easier today than it was a few years ago.

Would have got the HTC m8 if it wasn't for the camera... So am going to go with the Galaxy s5 instead. The HTC is a very nice phone otherwise! Phone Post 3.0

Strange, the camera in the original HTC One was and is very good.

Gotta disagree. For the price range, the camera was sub-par (and only 4 MP). In my and many others' opinion, it takes pictures that are generally washed-out with poor dynamic range, and it also has a widespread purple tint issue.

http://forums.androidcentral.com/htc-one/351874-htc-one-heres-skinny-infamous-purple-tint-thermal-defect.html

The low-light performance was very good, but that's about it. The M8 is also getting disappointing reviews on the camera, although the post-focusing feature seems cool.

The speakers on the thing are amazing though.
