Please, Twilight Vampires were awesome and would easily kick the shit out of typical vamps. The classic vampire mythology had been done a thousand different ways, it was getting boring.

Stephenie Meyer took the vampires and did something creative and original.

but seriously there are SO MANY great vampire flicks...

Dracula (Lugosi)

Dracula (Oldman)

Stake Land (an OGer did the stunt work for that)

Lost Boys

Fright Night

Near Dark

From Dusk Til Dawn

Let the Right One In

This is my quick list of favorites.

Blade Phone Post 3.0

Those vamps from 30 Days of Night were vicious and brutal!!

Nerd Question of the Day: Would Blade stand a chance of taking them out if they would have dropped him off in Barrow then the vamps attacked??

The Volturi would toy with the 30 Day vampires, no challenge at all.

For Dusk to Dark fans. There is a new series on the El Rey network. It's done by Robert Rodriguez and looks promising. If you like vampire movies, then this could be for you.

El Rey is some sort of Mexican channel, so this is sort of below radar for most people. The show is english language.

For the sake of claification, El Rey is not Mexican.  It is an independent cable channel started by Robert Rodrigues.  RR chooses all of the programming and created the new From Dusk to Dawn series as the first original program on the channel.

thanks for the clarification FC M.

My cable provider has this channel sort of buried with all the spanish language channels, so it's not part of what I typically surf through. I really had to look hard for it. It looks like it will have good programming, so I am making it a regular destination.

Dark prince: the true story of Dracula

I thought this was a good film for a made for tv film.

All about vlad the impaler and how he was denounced from the church and his soul was lost.
Not a vampire film as such till the end but worth a watch.

Is it the best, absolutely not but worth a watch Phone Post 3.0
