Canooke - Wear a jean jacket and spike your hair. Nobody will bother you.

Is it okay it my jeans and jacket are acid wash?

Yes. Pop the collar, too.

Actually, just do it like Corey. He looks great and nobody messes with him, they know better.

Enjoy the game.

So I guess I should wear my sunglasses at night.

HST - Jeez. Day time ball game though?

Every city has it's bad areas. You'll be fine man. Unless you plan on driving through the hood with your windows down playing David Allen Coe, you'll be fine.

That's what I figured. The Canadians I'm visiting are talking to me like I'm a crazy person and saying people don't even stop at red lights there for fear of being car jacked.

Thus, none will loan me their car and I'm going to have to get a rental.

Lol. You watch too much tv/talk to too many Canadians.

Downtown, midtown, corktown, etc are all perfectly fine areas. The dangerous parts are some of the neighborhoods (brightmoor, etc)

Are you driving down that day or are you planing on spending the night?

as always mark has the correct info. Detroits downtown is about as safe as any downtown area. Just dont go exploring the city without a guide to keep you out of the shady areas.

Kronk doesn't exist anymore.

Emmanuel Stewart died. His sister tried to run it but it wasn't the same.

Boxing is dead. No one boxes anymore.

If I remember correctly they re-opened in another location but as Mark said the original people are all gone, now its just a gym that happens to have the same name.

TampabayMMA - Youd drive 8 hrs round trip to see a baseball game all by yourself while leaving your gf in canada? You got bigger problems than road trip safety bro. Phone Post 3.0
True.

You should tell her it's at least a days drive each way and enjoy the peace and quiet.

It's fine. That area is pretty good. It's probably only 5 minutes from the tunnel. Left on Jefferson go a couple of blocks right on Woodward drive a couple of minutes and you are there. You could even take the shuttle bus from the Canadian side if you are that concerned. I'd recommend the Town Pump for cheap stiff drinks and bar food as well. It's only a couple of blocks down from the Hockeytown Cafe which is across from Comerica. Phone Post 3.0

There are not 22000 liquor stores. There are not 2200 liquor stores. Bs stats are bs. It's safe. The majority of crimes are committed on the outskirts of the city and not in the downtown area (which comerica park is at) Phone Post 3.0

I stopped reading after 57 murders a week. Detroit has about 300 murders a year, not 3000.

You'll be fine. That whole sports arena district is safe. It has it's share of ticket scalpers and bums asking for change. Been going to games since I was a kid brah.

IT'S STILL REAL TO ME DAMMIT!

Detroit has a huge land size. It is true in some parts you don't stop at Red lights but those areas aren't near the stadium. Just don't go exploring. The most dangerous things around the sports stadiums are hipsters. Park at the MGM casino parking garage it's free and will keep your car safe. Comerica Park is a very nice ball park. Enjoy the game but Go Tigers! Phone Post

slo ko - Some fun weekly, average stats to consider:

- there are 57 murders each week
- 1,718 violent assaults
- 90 rapes
- 502 car jackings
- 18 kidnapping or false imprisonments

Some more fun facts:

- there is one cop per 40,000 people
- 52% of school-aged youth are dropouts
- there are 57 churches and 22,009 liquor stores
- food delivery and public transport only serve 12% of the city due to safety concerns
- police and EMT's only serve 60% for the same reason
- many franchises like McDonalds have bulletproof glass between employees and customers Phone Post 3.0
Did you make these stats up? Lol

Spaghetti at the wall, Mark. I figured at least one of them had to be within the realm of accurate.

And I would have gotten away with it, too, if it weren't for you pesky kids! Phone Post 3.0

He had to. The 40,000 to 1 cop thing would mean the entire city has 17 cops. Phone Post 3.0
