Brigham - This is what fuckin bugs me about religious people. No God didn't want you to go to middleweight. And if there is a God and that is what God is concerned with, fuck God, that shit is fuckin nonsense Phone Post 3.0

If you have some co-worker, friend, whatever, who's one of the best people you know, and is Muslim, Christian whatever, but doesn't at all try to impose his views on you, do you also treat that person with the same prejudice because religious people bug you? Or are you only a bigot on the internet?
I'm not a bigot at all. Marquardt chose to comment on something publicly and I was simply commenting in what he said and also what nonsense it was. I'm actually a massive Marquardt fan I feel his view on what 'God's' priorities are, are silly Phone Post 3.0

That's a post I 100% agree with. It makes a lot more sense, and is infinitely more articulate than "this is what bugs me about religious people"

Chael's quote about the subject of fighter's thanking God is an infinitely more accurate portrayal of what those who believe in a deity believe than the guys who think Jesus helps them beat someone up, win a super bowl, or in this case, select a weight class.

Honestly what gets me the most is, be religious as you want but when it's like 'God this God that' when the guy you're facing could very well be just as religious as you, yet for some reason you feel God loves you more, or just seems like extremely fucked up logic to me is all.

But it doesn't effect me so what the fuck do I care? Phone Post 3.0

Again, you're absolutely correct in your statement, that bugs the shit out of me too. It always cracked me up about Vitor "God loves me more than everyone else....even though I'm using a borderline performance enhancer to help me hurt other people" lol. Tyron Woodley calling himself "The Chosen One" is right up there too.

Yeah, some religous people think God finds them more special than other people and causes them to win athletic contests, makes them famous, and helps with other trivial things. Egotism masquerading as religiousness.

A thousand years from now there will be a religious sect worshipping Hector for bringing the true message of God, stripped of the fallacy of our current, primitive religions.

If Nate was saying he had an invisible friend named Geraldine who told him to move up to MW he'd get sectioned. Because he's named it 'God', it's cool.

Amazing how someone nobody has ever seen gets so much credit, instead of the far more obvious answers. It's like people deny what is plainly obvious. Phone Post 3.0

spidermanik - Where's that chael god quote?..... Phone Post 3.0
"You know, these guys want to talk about God. 'Oh, I want to thank God. I want to thank God.' Listen, I'm a God-fearing man, go to church every Sunday and have since I was a boy. But if I ever found out that God cared one way or another about a borderline illegal fist-fight on Saturday night, I would be so greatly disappointed that it would make rethink my entire belief system." A fighter just told the world that God wanted him to gain weight. And you're mad at the UG for making fun of him and his beliefs? You're not biased at all lol.

God asked me to give a shit about either of this weekends cards but sadly I cannot.

God will also be selecting what meal I'll be eating soon and God will be in charge of the TV remote this evening (unless he fucks up and chooses a "Storage Hunters" marathon again, in which case Vishnu will get the nod). Phone Post 3.0

Wait... let's all be real here for a moment. If being reasonable (using reason to make decisions) makes you smart. Then by definition using faith as a basis for your beliefs makes you stupid. There's nothing bigoted about connecting those dots.

You don't get to hide behind your "we all can believe what we want", that's bullshit. If you believe women are inferior beings, even if you never try to push that down my throat... you're going to have kids and they are going to be influenced (aka abused) by that nonsense in your head. And I'm not going to allow that if I can avoid it.

I was listening to Dan Savage on JRE, and it's the same thing with him. Transgenders are crazy people, period. It's not mean of me to say it. You are you, the label is secondary. There's no "I was suppose to be"... that is the dumbest shit ever. And it's a biproduct of religion. At the very least, sign up for a religion based on science and reason. But don't ever be stupid enough to take pride in having beliefs not based on proof.
