Well it is a very unique. Even other karate practitioners have different styles and stances in MMA. His timing, distance, wide stance, feints, movement, speed, etc. all play into that. The problem is his style largely relies on capitalizing on guys mistakes to open up with attacks. Weidman hardly made any of those, so he wasn't able to exploit them.

Just rewatched r2. It was pretty even up to the td at the 4 min mark
