Look for the A2H and A3H models that a lot of gi companies are making these days. If you're over 270 and under 6-2, you may have to go for an a5 or a6 and get it hemmed.

I'm 5'7 220lbs with really big forearm chest and ab (singular). Every gi I buy is a roll of the dice. I actually found jiujitsuprogear gi's fit me the best but I still have yet to find the perfect gi that ibjjf will pass and feels comfy. ... Phone Post 3.0

Try the Grips SW, It will fit you good.  I'm 5'7" 200, this fits the best, little to no alterations, except for hem on pants and inch or two.

One of my students is a 6'5" and 420 pounds former powerlifter. He wears a Koral Classic A5. It is a little bit long but legs and belly fits well.

A2h a2x etc sizes by toraki, kingz, shoyoroll and many others

Vulkans are quite wide straight out the bag, so are jjpg/grab&pull.

Grips and fushida are good at giving you actual measurements on chest width etc Phone Post 3.0

My Storm is built for a bigger guy. I bought an A3, I'm 6' 200 with a 33" waste and it's baggy everywhere. Even after shrinking the shit out of it. Especially the midsection and thighs. I've ripped several gi pants because my ass and legs are big, and this gi has plenty of room. Phone Post 3.0

i used to by a size up and 'bake' the gi on high wash, high heat. I'd then have length taken up by seamstress. atama gold weave was good.

I've lost a lot of weight since and don't miss that bullshit. i definitely understand where you're coming from.

i do sometimes find someone in class that has opposing issue w/ Gi and switch tops w/ them.

Example: if they benefit better from an A4 top and an A3 bottom, and I'm vice versa, i'll swap w/ them.

the issue is finding what fits you right w/out spending a fortune doing so.

I agree a3h probably but best bet is to email companies who do those in between sizes and ask them about your measurements
Means you don't throw money away (if they actually respond) Phone Post 3.0

Mrbrownfolks - You sound like an A3H.

How would you go from an A5 to an A3-h?
