we always hear how DC says Cain beats him up in training all the time and people are always shocked at how hard they go against each other in sparring

DC is bragging about how Cain is getting him ready for Jones.. scary part is Velasquez doesnt even try to hurt him in sparring.. hes just so good and accurate

Do you think his accomplishments surpass Daniel Cormier's?

If so, please explain where you put the emphasis on Cain's opponents over DC's.

In my opinion, the best fighter on the planet is unknown. For the longest time, it was hands down Fedor.

Now, I'm pretty sure it's either Cain, DC, or maybe Jon Jones.

2/3 are undefeated, the one who isn't is Cain.

I heard DC does just fine against Cain. I wouldn't be suprised if DC is the best fighter on the planet. Phone Post 3.0

Cain has been hurting people since high school. I've heard stories of opponent's literally faking injury and/or illness to avoid wrestling him.

A HS state champion switched weight classes to avoid wrestling him. True story.

Bloody noses are pretty common in hard sparring. Don't get me wrong Cain is a beast, but this happens at all gyms everywhere.

Cain and DC = the two best fighters today IMO

The MMA training camps are just crazy. Jones training with guys like Arlovski and OVereem and Cormier training with Cain

I haven't seen an obvious gap in skills from DC or Cain to separate either one from the other.

Based on accomplishments, I think on paper the edge goes to DC.

Unless you are putting more emphasis than I am on the UFC Gold.

Hard to imagine any amount of John Jones mind games can be effective against a guy who fights the heavyweight champ on a daily basis. Especially when you factor in he also competed in the Olympics level.

This is definitely the fight I'm most excited about Phone Post 3.0

The matchmaking of Cain has just been disappointing, mostly the pointless Bigfoot rematch and the JDS trilogy too quick.

Hes at least got Werdum next

Cains popularity has kind of died though, an Overeem or Arlovski fight would get views

Fights with Jones and Cormier would be huge

All that matters today is that UFC gold and I highly doubt the fighters themselves will disagree . A UFC belt is the highest accomplishment in MMA . Phone Post 3.0

But that's like saying Trent Dilfer is a Superbowl champion.

There are Superbowl champions, but some stand out more than the others.

Trent Dilfter, yes, he's a "superbowl" champion, but his ring has a lot to do with factors beyond his skillset.

Cain Velasques, yes he's the "UFC Champion", but who he has fought doesn't make his championship seem Tom Brady-esque, it seems more Trent Dilfer-ish.

Right now, it's like Cain is Trent Dilfer, and DC is Dan Marino. One has the championship, the other doesn't. That doesn't mean that the one without the belt isn't better though.

(PS-Cain, I'm sorry to compare you to Trent Dilfer. I did so only for analogy purposes)

Solly97 - Cain is good but fabricio will destroy him if he shows up.

Cain game plays into Werdums strengths. Although I would NOT be surprised if cain picked him apart, his western boxing is the best in the division behind JDS Phone Post 3.0

Lol at Werdum destroying Cain. Comedian. He might catch him with a sub but that's about the only way he can win Phone Post 3.0
Well since I have seen Cain hurt by multiple fighters. Werdum has a good chance as anyone to knock him out, Phone Post 3.0

Cain Valesquez is equivalent to WWE's Undertaker when he had that 20 year undefeated wrestlemania run minus the defeat to Brock Lesnar recently.

Cos he got a bloody nose?? Lol Phone Post 3.0

Ignore him...he's a Jones fan boy, taking passive aggressive shots at DC. Nothing to see here.
