A talent is something you can do well.
With practice and education, a talent can become a skill.
When a skill is used to communicate, the result is art.

If it doesn't communicate, it isn't art.

The two main criteria for judging a work of art are:
1. How skillfully the idea (or emotion) is communicated
2. What is the idea itself

Art takes skill. Art takes time. Art takes guts. Art is nessessary to life. ...art is communication?

Can you give an example of art that doesn't communicate?

I cannot. I was only pointing out that communication is not an aspect included in the "On The Fridge" intro page. This page, mind you, presents the hard, fast rules about what art is and what art is not.

But it says this:

Everytime someone puts pen to paper, brush to canvas or even mouse to mousepad, they open a door into the innermost workings of thier heart and mind. It is hard to make yourself that vulnerable to other people. Art is an act of bravery.

Letting other people see what's in your mind is communication.

Usually when we want to get an idea from our mind into someone else's mind, we just use plain language.
But there's always something lost in the translation from one mind to another.

Art is the attempt to communicate purely, so that the audience can experience exactly what is in the artist's mind.

Van Gogh didn't want to paint the wheatfield as the wheatfield truly was; he wanted us to see the wheatfield as he saw it, and to know how he felt when he looked at the wheatfield.
