Any other bowhunters here? I haven't hunted in over 10 years. It's hard to believe it. I've been a city boy too long. My wife and I have made the decision to move back to the country in 9 months and I'll be living back on the farm. Whitetail, you'd better look out.. I've got to make up for lost time!

I haven't hunted for 22 years, but I still shoot from time to time. One of my houses is on a 600 foot lot, heavily wooded, and the neighbors are blissfully ignorant that a bloodthirsty heathen is sharpening his Neanderthal skills in their midst.:) As for what I hunted, what can I say...I'm from Louisiana:if it moves, we shoot it. Deer, squirrel, garfish, ducks, doves, robins...and especially RABBITS!!!(Sorry, couldn't resist the Tasmanian Devil reference):) Hell, I even had flu-flu arrows with the wire head to shoot birds. B_i_c, are you one of those beginners who need training wheels on your bow, or are you a real man? I ask this with trepidation, knowing you're an architect an' all.:)

martin, back in my prime hunting days I shot instinctive (only less than 30 yds.) and was working on stalking vs. stand. I was out in the woods 2-3 days a week. These days I'd probably look at all osrts of single cam vs. double cam, over draw, 3-d camo stuff I'd scorn before.

How's the pheasant situation in your neck of the woods. We have tons of them here! If given the choice they are my target of preference.

They're out there, though not like the plain states. but there have been many times (usually rabbit hunting) that I've nearly pissed myself when a phesant would pop up from some corn stalks or a bush about 2' from your feet!

I bowhunt (and rifle) hogs and deer in GA as well. Great that a hunter is returning as we are losing numbers and influence as well.

Bowhunter here. Me and a buddy tried bowfishing once and didn't realize we needed special arrows. The whole time it was like "FUCK I KNOW IT WAS STRAIGHT!!!" and the arrow would float up. Haha.

LOL! Another fun part of bowfishing is when your line catches on your bow,or you're standing on it, and the arrow gets yanked back at you at 100+ feet/sec.:)

Pheasants and deer are very similar in Iowa-it seems like there are so many that they're almost a nuisance. Lots of fun come winter time, though.
