Right now I am in Production on a Documentary about the Golden Days of Boxing. I have been doing quite a bit of interviewing of key figures in the arena. Last week, I interview Bert Sugar. Talk about an amazing person to interview. That guy has more stories than anyone ever. I shot Lou Duva a couple of weeks ago and am about to shoot Joe Frazier. I am hoping to wrap up shooting in the next 2 months, then it is editing for awhile. I'm in pre-production on another doc as well as getting ready to shoot a couple of shorts. This, as well as my writing, is keeping the filmmaking part of my life pretty locked up. What are you guys working on? Even if you are shooting a short about your dog, let us know.

I'm trying to edit down some footage of my gf's kung fu competition we went to. It's a mix of good kung fu, the worst of TMA, some san shou, and the drama of my girl breaking her foot at the end of her form. As always, I only realize I didn't get enough footage until I was home.
When I'm done, it'll fit in nicely with my movies of me losing in judo and NAGA.

I've got a cheap JVC miniDV camera and my G4 iMac with iMovie and QT Pro. Mostly, I've been shooting martial arts events, mine and my gf's, but I'd like to try some more scripted shorts. I did one and it was pretty funny.

Congrats Lynn! I'll refrain from the standard "you have a girls name" stuff here since we are on your turf :) I look forward to learning lots in here.

brettbjj...thanks man. But the real thanks goes to Kirik for working with the people and bringing them what they need. MMA.tv is a pretty amazing place if you really compare it to what other forums are. It is totally broad in spectrum for places to talk about or debate any and all topics.

I'm not a filmmaker but I'm making flash video presentations. Film a presentation (like a univerity president's speech) and get the transcript and PPT file, then bring tham altogether to simulate the experience of watching the thing live, including closed captioning. Not exactly high art or interviewing Joe Frasier but that's what I'm doing.

I'm not doing the filming yet, just the editing and the other stuff I described, although maybe I will do some of it in the future. It would be pretty straight forward stuff though, boring really. I'm doing this for Humboldt State University.

I'll post a link when I'm finished with this one. The only thing holding me up right now is the closed captioning. I assume I'll be doing many more of these in the future.

I'm organizing my prose and plays into screenplays. Sounds pompous as hell but I was a big fan of Harold Pinter and Beat narratives. I have Final Draft AV2 to make it simpler. Without trying my early narratives were Pynchonesque. As pompous as my material is I am aware that the story frame has to stand the test of time. This is why I am trying to rewrite my stuff.

Why are you using Final Draft AV2 for your writing? You should check out Final Draft 7. It might make it easier for you.

Just finished re-editing three 30 sec spots to 15 secs. for one of our clients. Did the offline edit on Final Cut Pro and went to shapeshifter for online edit. Awesome place and I recommend them highly.

Outside of the bullshit day job... I'm working on an independant film called 'the fighter.' Its a low budget thing but it was edited really well, sort of Evil Dead meets Snatch meets PI.

Just finishing Freestyle Fighting Championship 9,10 & 11. Also doing a couple weddings, a commercial for an MMA event, Reality Combat "Duel in the Delta" (finishing), and a documentary for a prison ministry program. Not to mention the family movies for Xmas gifts. I've had myself way over stretched these past couple months but catching up.
