Hey guys, I need a letter of recommendation for a few jobs I'm looking at. A professor roughly 2 years ago told me that if I ever needed one, he'd write it. I've read over some sites on how to request it. Most say I should ask in person but he's 1500 miles away. At first I was going to email, but that seemed rude. The sites also say I should get a SASE to him and so on. My first interview is november 11, so I'm wondering about the time involved. I want to try reaching him on the phone tomorrow to make the request, and to ask him how to proceed (should I mail him a SASE, etc.) Do you think that's the right approach or is there some other way I should work things? Thanks.
