If you could pick out any fighters from a lower weight class than heavyweight, to beat Fedor, or at least put up a good fight against him, who would you pick..? Could Vanderlei Silva give him a run for his money? How about Couture? What about Joe Riggs? I'm sure Wes Sims could pull off a KO.. (jp on that one) But seriously, which fighter(s) would you say has the best chance at taking him?

Silva, Igor(Same heavy hands, better striker), Hughes(He walks around 200 and is a better wrestler), and Randy, most of the others would get hurt, badly.

Personally I think Riggs would give Fedor a very tough fight. Riggs walks around at 205-210 and his punching power and speed is extremely hard to match with. He has very good defense in every aspect, and I can't picture Riggs getting GnP'ed to a defeat.

Igor's not a lower weight. Silva is the only one I can think of. All of the top wrestler-types (like Randy) who could conceivably take Fedor down and keep him there (by no means a given) would get slaughtered standing and subbed on the ground. Frankly, I think Fedor would outwrestle any of them -- so far he has only been outwrestled by Coleman (and Arona a LONG time ago). I guess if Chuck got exceptionally lucky he could land the KO punch in the 2 seconds before he was taken down and pounded out.

Other than Silva - none of those guys. Fedor had no issue reversing and submitting Coleman and Randleman VERY quickly. Randy is tough, but if they fought at their current weights I don't think he'd be any different. Randy has had trouble with bigger guys all along, especially if they get top position on him. Silva can potentially beat anyone and his JJ has been looking sharper and sharper as of late. He might be able to regain his feet or at least stall Fedor enough to get a restart. Any time a fight is standing, Silva can win, regardless of the size difference. I still think Fedor would manhandle him, but I like his odds better than most.

About Arona's win over Fedor...yes it was a decision and Fedor won cuz of the last round. But if Arona fought Fedor now...he'd be too hurt to wine like he usually does after fights.

Rizzo/Fedor could be an incredible matchup. Rizzo has Crocop's ability to shove people away to keep them from clinching, an incredible sprawl, and brutally heavy hands. He's also never been submitted. And because Fedor is so aggressive, Rizzo wouldn't be able to play his passive game. Johnnypayne, I think they said on the Bushido broadcast that Igor weighed in at 230, though that sounds fishy since he's only 5'8" and looked thick but not enormous.

I seriously think Joe Riggs would hand Fedor his ass. The only thing Fedor has on Riggs is weight. Riggs clearly has the chin advantage. Riggs clearly has the punching power. Wrestling is close Riggs has amazing cardio If this fight happened , I see Fedor going in to close the distance or go for a takedown, and then getting caught with a right straight from Riggs and going down. Riggs via verbal submission due to GnP

"Riggs walks around at 205-210 and his punching power and speed is extremely hard to match with. He has very good defense in every aspect, and I can't picture Riggs getting GnP'ed to a defeat." The Riggs trolling on this site has been ridiculous since his UFC debut. If you are actually serious, Ill bite. In response to your above quote I'll say "nobody could picture Fujita, Coleman and Randleman being subbed either or Nog being GnPed to a defeat either" Fedor is a plague right now. He totally cleaned out the Pride heavyweight division except for Cro Cop.
