No, I do not train with Steve Jennum but I am a fan. He was one of the few fighters in the early UFC's who showed technique instead of complete wild brawling IMHO. I also believe Jeremy Horn formerly trained Taijutsu. I have an old "Ninja" magazine from the 80's featuring a picture of Steve Jennum smashing some bricks.

I use to train at the Atlanta Bujinkan Dojo back in the mid to late 80's. It was alot of fun.Actually, since I am so banged up from MMA training I have pondered maybe trying out again.Do you train? If so Where? Thanks, Shane

Shane, I am fortunate to train semi-privately with a sensei who does not teach commercially. He is a cool guy who is open to and respectful of all martial arts. If you are fortunate enough to find a good school Taijutsu would be a great alternative if MMA training is getting a bit too much for you. MMA is great, but it is good that there are other options for those of us who are not quite up to the rigors of MMA athletes.

Hey Shane, that's a cool training history. I'm not from your area, so I can't recommend any teachers but Atlanta is no small unknown city, so you shouldn't have any problems locating a teacher, just do some research on the net.

Karasu, I trained with Steve for 5 years and now do BJJ. The Taijutsu group is still going strong in both Omaha and CB IA. Taijutsu group is now associated with Rodrigo Vaghi. He is a BJJ BB under Rickson. Three of the guys had MMA fights last night. Most do not fight in competition. Easy to get along with group. Join us for a day if you get the chance.

icode2u that is a great offer and if I'm ever in the area I'd love to meet and train with Steve. Just curious what is CB IA? I got the Omaha, but CB IA I did not.

Council Bluffs Iowa. It is a city directly across the Missouri River from Omaha NE.

icode2u, Is Steve doing the teaching at both locations? What's the training like? Is it more of a modern MMA focus, and do they still focus on taijutsu skills similar to Bujinkan? I'm on the east coast but maybe someday I'll be traveling through that area.
