It is time to move on up from using movie shop to something better. What are your suggestions for editing software for an IBM based pc? Some one said premiere pro and other suggestions?

On this board, the preferred favorite of those who have used both premiere & vegas is vegas. I've been using Pinnacle Liquid for a few months just to try it & I can't say I'm a big fan, but I've been spoiled on FCP & Avid. It's fairly powerful but looks to be tailored for consumers & prosumers with the general look of everything. -r

Premeire seems to be the NLE pimp on PC from what I can tell. I have an older version of Premeire and I'm happy with it (just too broke to upgrade).

djdb, are you saying you favour FCP & Avid over latest Premiere/Vegas editions? They feel more flexible? Its amasing how many started popping up last year..

"djdb, are you saying you favour FCP & Avid over latest Premiere/Vegas editions?" Duh. The industry is 98% Mac, & I work in the industry. There's obviously a huge benefit to being compatible with the rest of the industry. Which isn't what this thread is about. -r

yeah. if I wasn't too damn broke to upgrade, I'd have a mac w/ FCP, no doubt about it. I don't personally like mac, but I'm not one of those guys who just won't use it b/c I don't like it. I recognize the fact that the industry is heavily mac saturated...but then again, I'm not going to be an editor primarily either...sooo, whatever.
