Shinken4, The last time I was in South Africa was in 2003. I stayed in JoBerg because I had some business to take care of there.

I was very suprised how clean and modern it was.

Open guard, what do you want to see? Tell me what you are looking for and I will see if I can suggest anything.

Your best options are going to be South Africa, Botswana, Tanzania and Kenya is not too bad either. Try stick to East Africa and you should be alright.

Obviously the further north you go, the 'wilder' it becomes:-)

Kenya has some good safari tours, but I heard that South Africa has the best (more lion sightings, rhino's etc.)

Shinken4, I stayed at the Crown Plaza in Sandton, SA.. There was a mall across the street with an awesome Blue's bar. I hooked up with a really cute British chick  there. Good memories about Johannesburg!

Very nice. The mall was Sandton City and the new Nelson Mandela square. I don't know the bar but will look for it the next time I am out that way.

What exactly do you do?

South Africa has some great wildlife attractions but I would be hard pressed to put anything above the great migration in the Serengeti. JMHO:-)

I work for the Dept. of Homeland Security (I was with the Dept. of Justice before that). I'm with a fugitive unit that arrests foreign born criminals and deports them to their countries of origin
