How many of you always have a weapon on them?  A pocket knife, pepper spray, baton, etc.  Just wondering how many of you actually have something with you at all times and what it might be.

I usually have a pocket knife with me.

I like to carry my pocketknife to open mail, to open boxes at work, and as a basic utilitarian TOOL. To me, that's the beauty of a pocket knife: it has many uses. I personally refer to my pocketknife as a TOOL, not a weapon.

I also always have a folding knife on me. When I leave the apartment, my mental checklist is keys, wallet, watch, knife.

"I also always have a folding knife on me. When I leave the apartment, my mental checklist is keys, wallet, watch, knife." LOL, that's exactly what I do except my list is wallet, keys, cell phone, knife. I carry the CRKT M1 and I love it.

Your CRKT M16?
Most of the time, yes. It's discrete enough to go with dress pants. Although, on weekends, I rotate through my growing collection. It's still usually a CRKT, though. I'm in love with the "flipper". The M1, M21, Pesch-Nealy..

Yup, on Friday night. I didn't see e.kaye, but I did say Hi to Bob Lum. I was happy to see Brian Tighe there. I've been looking at his work online for some time and was glad for the chance to actually get a feel for his knives.
If I was going to drop $600 on a custom, it'd be one of his.

The only time I don't have a knife is in the shower and when I sleep.  When I sleep, I have a loaded 9MM next to me in a quick access safe (and my Cold Steel Master Tanto).  In the shower, I have a SOG Navy Seal 7 inch fixed blade hanging from a lanyard around the shower head, j/k, LOL.  When I'm out in public, I carry 2 knives.  One that is clipped to my left front pocket (Benchmade Skirmish or Emerson CQC-7) and a back up (Spyderco Dragonfly, Delica or Pro-Tech Runt) usually concealed on my right side.  I rotate knives according to what I wear and the occassion.

I am a weapon. In fact, this place should be re-named "The Golden Arm Ground".

Springfield 1911 in .45, or the Glock in .40 I prefer the 1911 but the Glock is lighter.

I typically carry several items that while not primarily weapons can be used effectively for self defense if need be. This would include 1 or 2 folding knives (Gunting, BM Ares) and a flashlight (Inova T-3).

Cold Steel 4i Voyager in winter (thumbstud is better with gloves) or Spyderco Delica in summer. Always in the same spot. LED's on the keychain and usually a Pelican L1. All of this is very light, very comfy. The only times I don't wear them are when on the mat or the beach, or when working in a secure facility (e.g. prison). In there, sometimes I'm not even supposed to have a cell phone.

I carry a Gerber folding knife everywhere, including riding my bike for excercise. I have to walk with a cane so I always have at least two weapons with me.

Weekdays (at work) or when going to a place that serves alcohol I carry a Strider GB. The rest of the time the GB comes with me in addition to a P7M8 carried IWB. Cheers.

I carry a pistol virtually at all times, give or take occasionally leaving it in my car or something. Usually my springfield XD subcompact or my KelTec .32.

In my SUV I have two tactical knives, one in the console and one in the glovebox. In my secondary vehicle I have a KISS locked on to the sun visor which makes it very easy to deploy.

Now that warm weather is here in SoCal, I just purchased a Spyderco Pacific Salt to use when swimming or going to the beach.  This knife will never rust and has a 4 inch serrated edge.  I still need a knife for the shower, it's the only place I am vulnerable.
