"redneck, calling someone an idiot for being skeptical of stories that have time and time again proven to be hoaxes is a bit much, don't you think? " No not at all, im saying that anyone who at least doesnt concede that in the infinite realm of things we humans dont understand, that it's foolish to discount the possibility that it exists. That's all I was saying.

" umm...why are ghosts always seen wearing clothes? " Because the image you see is a frozen moment in time that repeats itself over and over. This is why certain ghosts are always seen on a stairway at a certain time or heard to be saying the same words over and over. There are various types of ghosts though but the visual that we see is like a freeze frame from a different time period.

so it's not a disembodied spirit then? if it was, I don't see how it could be wearing clothes.

I don't know angryinch, maybe it's because they want you to recognize them in a remembered image? But I know, it's him.

I have to agree with Redneck. I'm addicted to all the FBI/Forensic shows on Discovery/TLC and I have seen a few specials on the "Paranormal Specialists" that some police forces and the FBI employ. It's entertaining to watch the FBI officials explain the shit because it's so amazing, that they seem almost embarrassed to admit that it is possible. Still sorting through momita's posts...then I will maybe tell more about my own experiences... :) Cali

"ummm..the kid in that second picture looks kinda scary"

That's how serious he was, I'd never seen him like that, he just kept saying "da da" over & over & when we wouldn't let him climb up there, he go so angry it scared us even. We looked, because he kept pointing, but there was nothing there.

anyways, my dog used to do weird shit like that all the time like stare at an empty corner barking at it like if someone was there, or sometimes up at the ceiling and shit. growing up I lived in a house I was convinced was haunted. Of course I now realize it was all bullshit and just my overly creative mind wandering, but it was cool back then.

I'll tell you about "the car" after cali_grrl tells hers. It was when I took plots of grass from our backyard to plant at his grave...... so it wouldn't be bare anymore, I couldn't stand it being bare.

Reposted from the paranormal ground... My mum's house has always had a "ghost". Most people who've spent any big amount of time (friends who've been there often, etc) there have seen it. My parents built the place on a vacant lot in the late 60s, and nobody has died in the house, so there's no known "explanation" for it. The area was inhabited by Aborigines prior to the white invasion, but it wasn't a burial ground or anything spooky. The ghost is roughly person-sized, but with the consistency of smoke - not thick smoke, but like someone blowing out tobacco smoke or something. Like I said, it's about the hight of an average man, roughly wider and thicker smoke where the shoulders would be. It usually goes from the hallway into my mum's bedroom, or sometimes from the loungeroom towards the entry to the hallway. The ghost doesn't have a sinister feel or anything - it's not even scary. The people who are "used" to seeing it are quite blase about it - "Oh, there goes the ghost" etc. Some people freak out when they first see it because they're not used to seeing ghosts. But I say "Oh come on, it's not SCARY!" and they generally agree with me once they've thought about it and remember that they weren't scared. I've been aware of the ghost as long as I can remember (I was born in 77). Oddly enough, the phenomenon has changed in the last 6 or so months. I was at mum's house in the kitchen, facing the corner of the bench making a cup of tea, and I clearly heard/felt my mum come into the room, cross diagonally behind me to the other corner, and put down something metal - like a key ring. I turned around asking her a question, and she wasn't there. I then walked out to the back of the house where she was, and semi-jokingly asked her "Since when does the ghost make noises?" She replies "Ah, the chinking of metal?" Turns out, the ghost has been making metal sounds around my mum since like September LOL. And it still doesn't feel scary.

Okay... So after the attic experience, I steered clear of Oujia boards for a while. Some quick background: My Mother is a die hard Filipina Catholic (Yes, there IS a difference between Flip Cath's and Regular ones). So I have been force fed Catholicism for most of my life. After my Father died, I went through a phase where I denounced all religion and would often blaspheme the church and any higher being associated with it. It was then that I started toying with Oujia boards/etc. So I immediately noticed shit once I got home. As I had mentioned in a prior thread, the most obvious one was that my room was obviously colder than the rest of the house. It wasn't something that was just in my head. My Mom and Sister would often comment on it, as if I did it deliberately (leaving a window open, etc). I never did. Then shit started happening at night. I remember on several occassions lying in bed trying to fall asleep when I would "feel" it. Hard to explain, but it was the sensation you get when you KNOW you're being watched. The feeling was so unbelievably strong that I would roll tight up against the wall with my face pressed against the cold wall hoping that I wouldn't see whatever the fuck was hovering above me. This continued for several weeks. One night, I remember the same thing happened...but this time I had decided that I wasn't going to be afraid anymore (again...bonehead, stubborn 9 year old)...so as I sense whatever the fuck it was approaching, I say outloud...."I'm not afriad of you!!!...Go away, I'm not afriad of you!" I then hear a door slam in the hallway, and two minutes later my Mom is in my room asking me who I was talking to, and why I am slamming doors.... Cont... :s Cali

People shouldnt be scared of ghosts, they are just people like anyone else. Just because they now reside in a different dimension is no reason to fear them.

ok, for his 21'st birthday, as a joke I bought him a souped up bigfoot car, ugly thing that yells & laughs.

When he died, I got it back. Going to the cemetary to visit your son is the shittiest thing in the world. Knowing he's under all that dirt... just hurts like hell.

About 2 years ago, a friend of his died, we were all sitting in the backyard talking about it. He said if he ever died, just bury him in the backyard & have a bar b que in his memory. I laughed & told him I thought it was illegal. Then he said, then put my grass I playwed on as a kid over me, where ever he was.

I remembered & dug up grass from every spot around the yard to fill up the bare spot. I put the shovel in the car & left. Well, I came home, in tears, don't even know how I drove for crying so hard. I got out, grabbed the shovel, my youngest came out, saw me, had a "look" when he asked, what & where had I been with the shovel. I told him there were a few there but they left, he said, yea, to go home & watch the news..... LOL

His little bigfoot car was sitting near the door, when it yelled "GRAVE DIGGER" about 4 times & then it started to laugh & didn't stop for about 8 minutes. My son & me both froze. It moved forward about a foot & a half. My young son turned around walked into the house & shut the door, later he told me, he got the craziest feeling & it was just like something Oscar would do & he couldn't handle it yet what happened.

That crazy thing acts up when I have my cry baby days.... other than that, it has to be pushed to do anything..........

"People shouldnt be scared of ghosts, they are just people like anyone else. Just because they now reside in a different dimension is no reason to fear them." read the book The Demonologist about Ed and Lorraine Warren. That will rid your mind of that notion. Like I said, I don't believe this stuff, but if anyone does believe in ghosts, this book will scare them shitless. Hell, even if you don't, it's still a scary read.

I explain that I wasn't slamming doors, and that I was just having a bad dream. So she goes back to bed and closes the hallway door. I'm laying in bed for what seems forever, and I start to hear a loud buzzing...like the muffled sound of a vacuum. At this point, I remember thinking that I was dreaming because no one would be vacuuming this late at night. Again, trying my hardest to not be afraid, I resist the urge to roll into the wall, and just close my eyes tight. I can sense whatever it is hovering above me so strongly that if I would have opened my eyes, I swear we would have been face to face. I don't think I slept at all that night. A few weeks after that experience, I went to bed and it started again...the low buzz and the sensation that someone was there. I remember I could hear a music box playing in the livingroom and thought that maybe my Mom was still up, so I opened my eyes. I noticed the hallway door was slightly ajar and there was light coming through the slit. I crawled to the door and what I saw had me so scared that I remember trying to scream, and nothing coming out. I was trying so desperately to scream, but couldn't. I ran into my bed and started bawling my eyes out, sobbing, begging for it go go away. I know this is gonna sound like some crazy bible beater stuff, but suddenly I had this realization or voice tell me to pray. I know, I know...crazy. But I did. I started praying and saying "hail mary's" over and over again, begging for help. It was like a wave of warmth rushed over me from my toes up to my head... So my Mom had me going to a counselor (or someone was making me go) after my Dad died. I remember them telling me to draw what it was that I saw. It took weeks for them to get it out of me. When I drew it, I didn't know WTF it was, and had never seen anything like it.... cont. :) Cali
