Event:     Oregon State vs Louisville on 09/17/2005 at 09:00

Condition:     Oregon State

Promotion:     The Louisville Cardinals will open Big East play at home in Papa John Stadium against visiting PAC 10 opposition the Oregon State Beavers this Saturday. This will be the first ever meeting between these two programs. Both of these teams come into this contest undefeated. The Beavers are a perfect 2-0 beating Boise State and Portland State. The Cardinal are 1-0, winning a closely contested 31-24 battle as 22.5 point home chalk against opponent Kentucky. Louisville was held to just 388 total yards of offense.(That is only the third time in 26 games under coach Petrino that the Card offense has failed to reach the 400 yard plateau). Bottom line: The Beavers defense was the second best in the PAC 10 last year and despite of having to replace some key components continues to look stronger than many expected. The linebackers remain among the nations best as Trent Bray, Chaz Scott and Keith Ellison will continue terrorize opposing QBs. The offense looks to be strong as WR Mike Hass hauls down circus catches and TE Joe Newton keeps secondaries on their toes and for the running game to finally become part of the scheme. I expect the underrated Beavers to some extent contain Cardinal QB Michael Brohm and his high powered offense while putting enough points on the board to make this a fairly closely contested affair. Final note: OSU is 5-0 SU and 7-0-1 ATS L/8 overall dating back to last season. Play on Oregon St. plus the points
