If there's one thing we can take away from Week 1, it's to expect the unexpected. It's far too early to come to conclusions about how well certain teams will do this season based on the first week of games. The Miami Dolphins turned a lot of heads with their impressive 34-10 win over the Denver Broncos. The Broncos aren't exactly a heavy weight opponent but nonetheless are a solid Football team. Miami is in a transition phase right now with a new head coach, a new Quarterback and a muddled running back situation.

This season will be filled with ups and downs for the Dolphins. Peyton Manning passed his first hard test of the season when his Indianapolis Colts defeated the Baltimore Ravens 24-7. Surprisingly it was the Colts defense that stole the spotlight in Baltimore. Maybe this is a sign that the Colts are no longer just an offensive juggernaut but a well balanced team.

In a rematch of last year's NFC championship game, the Atlanta Falcons exacted revenge on the Philadelphia Eagles edging them 14-10 on the opening Monday Night Football game of the season.

Green Bay had the worst week of any team in the league. They lost their opener to the Detroit Lions 17-3 and lost their best wide receiver Javon Walker for the season due to a torn ACL. Green Bay was already headed for a decline and now may hit that faster than anticipated.

The Minnesota Vikings offense looked horrendous versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 1. In particular, Daunte Culpepper looked like a different Quarterback without Randy Moss on the field. Culpepper's track record without Moss has never been good but this time around it's different because Moss won't be coming back to save the day. If Culpepper doesn't find a way to adjust to this new offense it will be a long season in Minnesota.
