Hey everyone! I have my teaching certification in Michigan...however, the job market here for teachers is very limited right now and I am dreading another of substitute teaching! :o I am at a point in my life where moving is going to have to be an option, so....that leads me to my question to anyone who can offer some advice:

How is the market for teachers in CA..preferably So. Cal.?

How is the pay and benefits

and, Does anyone work in or know anyone that works in some good school districts that might be able to help get some info on possible connections?

I am looking for either high school or middle school (7-12th) and I have certifications in History, Social Studies and Economics...I am currently working towards my English minor/certification. Thanks!

good luck. my dad was a teacher in Michigan many moon ago, then he came down to Georgia for a job and ended up marrying my mom. he had the same problem you did - outside of Detroit, there is a small market for teachers there.

Move to Phoenix, we are so short staffed on teachers here it is ridiculous.
