Had my first chemistry mid-term. I got a C-. Missed some questions on limiting reactants and shit. Why do electrical engineers need to know this shit? It's very gay.

Yeah, we had to memorize like 15 polyatomic ions. What a waste of brain space.

" Yeah, we had to memorize like 15 polyatomic ions. " If you're a chemist or materials or some types of physicist, you use those all the time. So it's useful for some people, just not for you.

I don't care. You can get Cs on worthless shit like history and english, but as an EE major you shouldnt be getting C's on any science or math related exams. Suicide yourself immediately :)

Iceman, When I've only got a limited amount of study time during the week (due to work commitments and poorly-designed labs that take too long to finish), I have to decide to make compromises. Should I spend my time trying to memorize a butt-load of ions and their configurations or should I bust out some Laplace transforms? It is a basic cost-benefit analysis.

I was just busting your balls, jgibson. I got an A in chemistry only because I took AP chemistry in highschool ;) Actually, thanks to AP classes, I was able to pull A's freshman year of college by drinking every night and just showing up to tests.

Just I had the second midterm and it kicked my ass. I talked to the prof and she said "If you double E's are so smart, how come everyone of you are getting C's in my class?" I had to laugh at that one.

Dude, I took 101 and got as far as covalent and ionic bonds and counting the extra molecule-thingies on the outer ring. I switched to liberal arts soon afterward.

"Dude, I took 101 and got as far as covalent and ionic bonds and counting the extra molecule-thingies on the outer ring." Do you mean "valance electrons?" The ones in the outer shell that control bonding?
