So, I'm still getting used to this deal. I burned some DVDs of an event last year. Recently, the promoter told me he wanted some more copies, so I put a disc in the iMac, selected copy, and away we went. I gave the original and some copies to the promoter, but kept a copy for myself.
Now, I just realized that what I have now is just an image of the DVD, not a playable DVD.
What can I use on an iMac to burn an image back into a viewable DVD?

I feel like an idiot. Not only did I give away my last copy, but I gave the promoter several images burned to disc instead of viewable discs.

I tried that, but it just left me with an image on the DVD. I put that in any player, and I get an error. If I look at the contents in Finder, I see two folders (Audio and Video, I think) but the disc won't play. In iDVD, there's not a "Burn Image to Disc" option.
I know the PC has programs for making and burning images, but neither Finder or iDVD seems to be doing what I want.

i'm not 100% on this, but i think you're doing to need an app to turn that disc image file into a video_ts folder. maybe toast or dvdsp4 can burn from an image, but i'm not sure.

The CSPT
try POPCORN for MAC or JacktheRipper. You can probably find (out about) them on versiontracker.com

Toast is the correct answer. Select "disc image" rather than "DVD"

Thanks. I thought I'd seriously screwed myself. I'll download some of the suggested apps tonight.

in nero, on the pc, you would choose to burn a disc image.

Right, gotcha. That is what I want to do. Unfortunately, iDVD doesn't play like that. I'm going to try Toast.
