Who would you guys like to see honored as "Iowa's all time greatest mma fighters"?

I'm looking at people with close connections with the state. Not just people who train at Miletich's camp. Obviously, Pat Miletich should be on there.

What about Kevin Jackson, Royce Alger, Travis Fulton, Justin Eilers, etc? Who would YOU like to see included in the list?

Pat would have to be #1 for the style and athletes he has coached into the cage at his prime he was truely great.  Right now it would have to be MVA.  He is truely a world class athlete.  He was telling a story about how he was in a gym in Phoenix and he saw Scottie Pippen working out.  Scottie came up to him and asked him if he was Mike Van Aresdale.  Mike obliged and gave props to Pippen and Pippen told Mike that the guys watch UFC's all the time on the bus and on the planes on road trips and are big fans.

Travis would also have to be up there for his fight record and longevity in the sport.

Honorable mention of course goes to Warfrog.

Is Pat really from Iowa? I din't think he was? Who all that trains at Miletich is from Iowa. Is Horn? I really don't know. We need a list to pick from.

pat is from iowa. played football as well for davenport, i think he told me he was a nosetackle. i believe his dad was a coach there too. i could be wrong. horn is from omaha, so technically he is a nebraskan. he lived a good portion of the last decade in iowa i think. travis fulton, tyrone roberts are two other guys that should get recognized for sure. dennis reed, royce alger, mva, andre roberts, spencer fisher, josh neer, danny anderson and little known mark jaquith are all guys that represent or have represented iowa well. you can throw clayton miller in there too.

i thought of another guy that doesnt/didnt get a lot of recognition and thats mark hanson. were it not for a neck injury and the demands of his job, he very well may have been a heavyweight champ long before big tim came to iowa.

To be fair, every university is liberal-dominated. UI DOES have a larger amount of hippies, protesters, tofu and granola eating professors, etc...but ISU still has them.

hey clayton! now, lets be honest. an agricultural school, like the one in ames, is more likely to have moderate to conservative teachers than a university like the one in iowa city. lets not bring up the dyke that thinks the pink locker rooms are homophobic and all that. wasnt one of the administrators at iowa chasticed for saying something about white males a year or so ago?

Sorry, Halz, I'm still partial to Southeast Iowa. But you make a good point.
