I know there are a few good bjj places in MD (training at Maguilla's in Silver Spring now) but was wondering what the options were for something more focused on standup, like boxing, kickboxing, or muay thai?

Yeah, I'm curious about that too, but I'm on the other end of the state. As far as boxing goes, I know there's the Baltimore Boxing Club, John Burdyck's in Edgewood, and I'm not sure if they're still open, but Maxell "the General" Taylor's dad had a place in the White Marsh area. I went to high school and wrestled with Maxell. I didn't really know him all that well, but I know he was, and as far as I can tell, still is a bad ass boxer.

I keep hearing rumors about a Muay Thai place downtown somewhere. I have a guy that comes to our BJJ club every now and then that trains there. When I get the info, I'll post it.
