Chainsaw, you wont even have to engage the burglar. Picture this:You break into a house.Everything is quiet and very dark...somewhere in the darkness you hear a chainsaw turn on and start moving toward you... Don't know about you ,but id run like hell...

"Picture this:You break into a house.Everything is quiet and very dark...somewhere in the darkness you hear a chainsaw turn on and start moving toward you..." Throw a high-pitched evil clown laugh in there somewhere and you'd find me stretched out in your kitchen, unconcious(sp?) and smelling of feces.

just my two cents, but if you kill a bad guy with a spear you're going to have a hard time looking good in the eyes of the cops. "well you see officers, i can't purchase a firearm because of this legal trouble i got into, so i had to stock my home with ninja & viking weapons." you're going to look like a nut. best choices 1) any dog that barks 2) cheap ass gun 3) mace.

after trying to clean blood out of my carpet this weekend, I've decided blades are more trouble than they're worth. What's the point in killing a burgler if you have to redo your floors?

Ballpoint pen, keys carried on a snap swivel and split ring, fire extinguisher, handle off of a windshield squeegee, walking cane, chair, book, garden tools, rolled up magazine, flashlight, rocks, all work well. Good physical conditioning, a few tecniques practiced until they are as natural as walking, and a will to win are pretty useful as well. Grandpab

Stun device, taser and Pepper spray falls under section 5, same category as machine gun in England.

You simply cannot buy them legally at first place. but no, you won't get 5 years for that for using it for self-defense

it's likely either caution or community service for first offence.

Extendable batons and knives are actually different story. A person that I know in England that is a constitutional lawyer and civil liberty movement guy carries a Monadnock baton and folding knife daily, he's informed police and home office (UK equivalent to DOJ) and they can't arrest him. He takes them to court and leaves them in a box upon entering. Again, they can't arrest him. When he's helping police etc. he informs them, can't arrest him.

 Why?

Bill of Rights 1689. He proved it TWICE in high court, 1998 and 2002

How do I know all this crap? I actually research arms law around the world.
