Hey guys, Found a job for a casual script writer here in Australia for one of our multicultural broadcast stations. The idea is to turn short point form ideas into 10-12 minute script & dialogue ready for production. I've been interested in script writing but have yet to actually pursue it. I haven't written anything before and I'm required to submit a 2 minute script to them along with my CV. Are there any points and ideas you guys can suggest? Any resources? How do I gauge a 2 minute script?

You can assume that 1 page equals 1 minute of screen time roughly. Pick up "The Screenwriter's Bible" by Trotter. That is a good reference book for formatting etc. If you get a copy of Final Draft, it will properly format your script while you write.

Good for you that you're trying, but I've never really understood when people do this. "I've never doctored before, but there's an ad for one in the paper; I'm thinking of applying. Anyone know of some good things to put on my CV?" Just seems like you might have a little more invested before you start applying.
