I have to write an essay form the historical and critical studies part of my illustration degree, the question is... "Identify the people/institutions who shape and have shaped your ideas of 'good' and 'bad' illustration/art/design. How might Bourdieu explain the process? What is your reaction to this?" I just ordered "Understanding Bourdieu" and "The Field of Cultural Production: Essays on Art and Literature". Does anyone have any suggestions for some other reading I should do for this? It's only a short essay, 1800-2500 words.
